i feel the same. Enjoying it, not necessarily ready to recommend it to everyone. Finished season five of "For all mankind". I enjoyed every season so far, one of the best shows on TV, although season 5 was a little uneven it finished very strong. Looking forward to the final season 6, not so much to the spinoffs. Also, Your Friends and Neighbors season 2. It was at times great, at times mediocre, but the last couple of episodes have really honed in. Season 1 was tighter storytelling, they need to lean away from the expanded stories for everyone, I'm only interested on what happen to the main character, not his sister, or his wife, or his kids, etc. When the story concentrates on the main character or those directly affecting him, it's truly great, otherwise it feels like a bad soap opera. Still, recommend it for people to watch, hilarious at times, enthralling other times.
Cape Fear on Apple TV+ is incredible. The cast is loaded, Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, Patrick Wilson, CCH Pounder, they all bring it. It's well written and produced by Martin Scorsese. Only two episodes have aired, so I'm reserving final judgment until I see how they stick the landing, but right now this is one of the best things I've watched all year.
Pluribus season1, 6 out of 10 stars, good story, good acting, good cinematography, but slow AF and very fluffed out. Should have been trimmed out to a 6 episode miniseries. Worth a watch with a handy skip or fast forward button. Skip episode 7 to the end as absolutely nothing happens.
Finale comments. Spoiler Great season. The finale didn't exactly stick the landing for me, but that was probably impossible since it was written with a season 2 in mind.
Not Suitable For Work 5/10 - We tried watching the first episode and only made it 75% of the way through. I barely laughed once during that time. Avoid this "comedy" like the screwworm plague! I usually enjoy stupid comedies and was hoping this would be similar to Adults but not even close.
just like @clos4life mentioned, it’s watchable but all over the place. dunno how they’ll save it in S4. still gonna watch it tho
It's in German and requires some overlooking of plot holes & poor acting, but I found "Kleo" on Netflix a fun watch.
Spider Noir on Prime Video I saw it in black and white. The cinematography was gorgeous. The story ran a little thin for an 8 show series. This might be a complaint I have for many streaming series. At times, Nicolas Cage was brilliant. At other times, Cage was stunningly bad. I guess when you are the Exec Producer your creative choices go unchallenged. 7/10 overall. 10/10 cinematography.
Dark Matter, 8/10, interesting premise that gets better as the show goes along. There are moments it feels like it a drags just a bit, but it kept my wife awake most nights when she usually is dozing off.
I didn't keep up if it was gonna get a season 2 or not. After your post pleased to see it's coming back in August.
Sugar. Really enjoyed this show. Wish I could say more about it, but for me it was at least an 8 out of 10, probably closer to a 9 out of 10 as the season went on. Supposedly season 2 is starting to come out this weekend, can't wait to see where they go with it.
