What a GREAT Masters, love seeing Rory get so emotional, it was the one win that may set him free, career GRAND SLAM finally!!!.......................just a great weekend of golf. I hate LIV so I was actually rooting against Dechambeau, I didn't care who won as long it wasn't a LIV player. The Masters IMO is the biggest tournament of the year

Not sure if there is anyone here that watches the PGA but as someone who recently in past year that got into golf will tell you, the whole LIV thing is an absolute joke.

LIV had like their 3rd biggest star come back to the PGA and the dude can barely make the weekend cut. The PGA is completely stacked with guys all going 15 to 20 under for the 4 days which is insane.

It seems like the only guys who jumped ship for money were guys who knew they were quickly becoming irrelevant and cashed out to the bone saw guy for one last pay day.

Also I find Bryson Deshambaeu to be a complete doucher. I live like a mile from the guy and a lot of people around here run into him from time to time. Dude sucks.

LIV is on life support now that the PIF money is going away.

Your thread did not age well.

Hated LIV from the first announcement.
Greg Norman saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship.

F all those dudes especially Michelson.
And I loved him and Bubba cuz Im a lefty.
But I would never and have never watch a swing on that tour. Again F those guys.

None of those guys would be anything without youth tournaments and qualifiers and instructional camps
    F those guys.

It is fine, was 100% on point at the time - the Saudis are dirt bags as a government but then so is ours.

They pulled their money, the guys that were in it made bank for a few years and the PGA is having to implement appearance fees.

Hell the PGA provides literally NOTHING to those guys - they need to make a living.

I actually didn’t mind a league like LIV existing for the type of players like Phil, Sergio, etc. along with some younger more oddball type of players. However I don’t know what guys like Rahm, and Bryson were thinking beyond a quick cash grab to sortswash a corrupt brutal dictator.

But yeah Trumps imposing on the golf world doesn’t necessarily keep the PGA clean either. The “signature event” at Trump Doral was a pathetic attempt to placate him. It is an unnecessary stop when so many great events are getting cut with the new schedule.

In the end LIV wasn’t sustainable and was never going to be able to compete though. The PGA is stacked and even Scottie Scheffler is having a hard time lately keeping up with guys who go on heaters. So I do hope a secondary tour can still exist for those bigger names who can’t cut it anymore but I don’t feel the least bit sorry for anyone like Bryson because the league is folding. Go be a YouTuber where everyone you film with worships you.

I think they screwed themselves for the $ and IMO the team format screwed up their ability to play solo. I think the person I hate most from all this is Lefty, I always rooted for him but now I hope he never sees another major. The PGA has a great group of young players, and I love to watch the leader board on Sunday to see how many LIV players failed ANOTHER major! Wyndam C is coming into his own and playing with Scottie on Sunday didn't seem to affect him................those greens with that wind were almost not fair on Saturday

The greens were much better than the last time they played there. Still a b****, but I remember the players last time just laying into the course set up.

It broke my heart to see Bubba and Phil migrate to the LIV tour.
But I get it. Especially the older golfers like Poulter, Westwood, and Henrick Stenson. Get that last bag of cash before you ride off into the sunset.

I whole heartedly disagree with you on this point.
The USGA is providing a gazillion youth tournaments, instructional camps, and roads for folks to get to the PGA as a pro.

Golf much like tennis is an individual sport except the Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup, and the Zurich Open, and doubles in tennis.
You make bank if you are good, if you are a JAG, you still make bank to a lesser extent.

Let's take the number 110 golfer in the world at present. Tony Finau Career earnings= according to google over 47 million.

The 150th ranked player in the world is Thirston Lawrence his career earnings = 1.8 million on the PGA and 7.5 million pounds on the DP world tour.

These dudes are NOT starving artists. Hell, even the caddie for Finau at 10% has made $4,700,000 over his career,

The LIV tour is the WWE of golf and that's not the game I play. No music blaring, no team to pick me up, no 54 hole tournaments, No, no cut format. If you are playing well, you make it to the weekend, you suck you turn in your event sponsored Mercedes Benz or Genesis SUV and move on down the road to the next event. Where your next courtesy car is waiting.

That's what golf as I have grown up with is to me.
