Depends on who you get back for him. Also depends on what you get back for other trades you should make (KD, FVV, Adams). Take a step back for a year or two to get better in the future. Keep them all if you can’t get value and hope Amen and/or Sengun get a shot and Ime gets a brain.
You don’t think the rockets should trade sengun and 2 potential lottery picks for a way way way worse player and a non lottery pick? Reasonable i guess.
The deal Hemingway mentioned was for #15 though which is barely non-lottery. I don't think Trey Murphy is a vastly worse player than Sengun either, I think they are fairly close in value. (Sengun is a better player, but not by a wide margin, and Trey is much easier to fit onto a contender.) I still do think it's too many picks effectively just to get into the middle of this draft class though. Maybe if it was a high lotto pick...
You would trade sengun for murphy and #15? I sure as hell wouldn't and i'm not remotely a sengun guy. The idea of adding in TWO possible lottery picks is utter lunacy.
Here’s another one you guys will hate: Bucks: Sengun, KD, Herro, Mia 2030 frp Miami: Giannis Hou: Turner, Wiggins, Ware, Portis, 26 #10, 26 #13
I’m a Sengun fan and I don’t think that looks too bad. But only getting Portis for KD is a dealbreaker.
My question with this one: Can we turn #10 and #13 + other assets into Cam Boozer? If so, I'm onboard. If not, I'm not sure. Depends on who's still there at #10
I was actually going to add that, but hit post by mistake: #10,#13 Jabari, Reed, DFS for Ja Morant, Ty Jerome #3 Amen, Jerome, Wiggins, Boozer, Turner Bench: Ja, Portis, Tari, Ware Unload Adams, FVV, Capella for whatever you can get.
Those numbers aren't that big of a difference when you consider who you are playing with and and your role in the offense
Can't believe the people here who'll just throw Bari into any deal. He's 6'11, can guard the perimeter, shoots 36% from 3, and is locked in long-term on a great deal. And he's younger than Amen - any of you praying that Amen can hit 30% from 3 better believe that Bari can get to 40%. He's the absolute last guy I would trade off this team. The Rockets have question marks at every position - age, shooting, defense - except Bari.
I agree it would take a lot to move Bari--but in a deal where you can potentially get the most important thing we're missing (a #1 offensive option) he is relatively expendable. He is a good roleplayer who might become an elite roleplayer, but I don't see more in there than that.
I've said this before - but the Rockets' FO/org/ownership think our players are good and worth a lot. All of these "sell low because I personally think Sengun/Jabari/KD/Reed/Tari sucks" trades just aren't going to happen. Do I think the FO would very much like to do a big trade this offseason moving out one or both of KD and Sengun? Yes, but only the sell high version, not anything like a sell low. They'd just not do any trade and run it back forever if they don't get offers that they perceive as rich returns.
Would you do this deal? Memphis: FVV, Amen, Reed, Jabari Smith, The best out of 2027 PHX or BKN First, Rockets 2028 First, Rockets 2030 First Rockets: Ja Morant, KCP, Ty Jerome, Mem 2026 First Rockets Lineup: Ja Morant/( Colin Sexton Free Agency) KCP/ Ty Jerome KD/ (Okogie Free Agency) Cam Boozer/ (Tari Eason Free Agency) Sengun/ Adams
I generally agree with not trading Jabari, but if it netted you any of the top 3 this year. I would have to consider it. Would add 20m to our cap space and i think all 3 have higher ceilings.
