You do realize that there's a pipeline being built to not have to deal with the straight of Hormuz that's about 1/2 done?

Bur in a vacuum you're correct and your reasoning is why we should've finished them off by any means necessary.

I do not think that's a fair comparison.

The first two were planned for long periods of time.

The later was due to outdated intel.

There is blame to be placed but it was not an intentional act, but an unfortunate amount of collateral damage.
And might be a big reason we have not put boots on the ground. Killing civilians is no bueno.

Iran was a distraction from the Epstein files, but what have we lost?

It was necessary because it kept Iran from getting a nuke.

I get that you feel that way, but that's not my question.

However, the sanction relief is real and immediate. That is likely worth $100s of billions of dollars.

So the Iran reconstruction cost to the US is at least $300 billion on paper.

Iran will also benefit from $100s of billions in sanction relief that is now in effect.

I think the dollar amount is partly inflated by sanctions relief valuations. There is no way the United States is gifting hundreds of billions of dollars in a year to anyone.

It’s cumulative over time. My quick math said $350 billion to $600 billion in revenue over a decade (based on last decade of sanction...)

And if Iran adds a fee for a “safety inspection” in the strait, that’s more billions.

What happens when Iran bombs the pipeline?

Also half done is half undone.

The big problem is Iran needed to be decapitated quickly and Trump thought that would happen.
Iran punched us in the face not by military force but showing it just does not care how much we F up their country, or how many people we kill of theirs.

The only way we would ever turn this into our favor would be to destroy everything and everyone there. Most Americans are not fans of inhalation of other countries people regardless of deeds committed in the past and present.

9/11 was carried out by Saudis. You're the type of dumb ass who was cheer leading for the Iraq war because of 9/11. Seriously, Saudi and Iran are mortal enemies. Now you believe we should starve to death Iranians because of 9/11. You are MAGA to a tee. Little to no knowledge about anything, but confidently taking extreme positions.

His ignorant thinking is you can just wipe off entire countries off the face of the earth.

That's what MAGA keyboard warriors believe. Just press a button, kill them all. including innocent children, women because you know......the entire country is EVIL.

Oil is not the only thing that transits the Strait of Hormuz.

There are existing bypass pipelines in the region, but they only handle roughly ~7m bpd total at best, so most exports still rely on the Strait.

The UAE’s Habshan–Fujairah pipeline carries ~2m bpd and is being expanded (add new pipelines) to roughly ~3m bpd, but even with similar Saudi and Iraqi routes added in, total bypass capacity still falls far short of what actually moves through Hormuz.

TLDR: new pipelines don’t change the overall picture much.

Of course. That’s why Trump starting the war was so stupid in the first place.
