He's advocated for mass starvation and civilian death in Iran throughout this thread.

    Really wild.

He thinks that actions don’t have equal and opposite reactions.

We didn’t commit to the large scale destruction of the Iranian economic infrastructure because we did not want and could not defend against retaliation against gulf economic infrastructure or Israeli economic infrastructure. The strait being closed has been painful, but the loss of the economic output altogether would bring on the next Great Depression.

This was a war of choice that was initiated by Israel and approved by Trump. Trump saw the inflation numbers and called it off. I genuinely would not have guessed this was the outcome that we’d have though.

It’s crazy how little people learn when it comes to Trump. It was incredibly obvious how this was going to turnout because everything about Trumps history would tell you this is exactly what would happen.

    It’s also predictable that:

-Trump supporters and the media will allow history to be rewritten through just sheer fantasy that Trump “got a deal” with Iran where no other president could have.

-Trumps butt boys Kushner and Witkoff will surely have their hand in a huge piece of that 300 billion dollar “reconstruction” fund. My guess is in negotiations that was the core piece Trump was focused on. It’s always about the corruption with this guy.

Trump is incredibly unique in that he is allowed to get away with things that would sink any other president if it was just one of the many scandals and corrupt acts by itself. It’s mostly because the fact is this country has a huge population subset that are just like RainingThrees and enjoy what he does.

They are in it for the show. Carpet bombing countries in the Middle East sounds like a great time. Demolishing the White House sounds like a great way to own the libs. Plunging our country into a Great Depression is totally worth it if it hurts the people I hate as well.

I just think we need to wake up to the reality of the situation here because it’s not great. Yes there’s a chance in 2028 they aren’t successful in staying in power by rigging elections, but in the longrun this country has a real problem with its moral fabric at its core. The other 51% of us just really need to stop being so damn naive.

    Just for clarification.
There has been no carpet bombing of Iran to this point, but it has been threatened when the Donald said he would bomb them back to the stone age.

Did anyone notice the look on the face of “little Marco” as Trump was having his surrender news conference. That’s the look of a man that has huge regrets about getting involved with Trump. That’s the look of a man that desperately wants to be anywhere else in the world as opposed to standing next to the clown president.

I think this is the downfall of MAGA.
There will always be the gullible that buy into a fake ideology.
But for anyone who has any type of critical thinking skills, there is no way those disciples that hitched his wagon to him will survive and have a sustained political career.

I have always stayed pretty quiet on Trump other than a barb here and there, but the legacy he is leaving behind will be one of:
    Alienating our closest allies
Creating a new generation of middle eastern children that will hate the US to extremes
Division of this country with all of his hate speach
    Lies becoming the norm
Using his seat and power to become richer that any president before him
Never taking blame but trying to pin situations on the media and so on.

He has doomed the career of those that will follow behind him.
But there are a lot of stupid SOB's out there, and I could be wrong.

I hope you’re right, but I wouldn’t discount the short memories of his voters and his ability to refocus their attention on some other bullshit.

Great points. And a lot of that will have long lasting effects. You can't just put the damage behind and hug it out. The world saw who we really are...or can be.

He looks so uncomfortable listening to Trump's BS, but stands there like a good little loyalist, whispering in his ear translations or clarifying what Trump can't hear, or doesn't know. Meanwhile Lutnick stands there smiling and nodding his approval to everything Trump says, because his family is in on the grift and deception too.

Did you see his reaction when Trump said this yesterday? LOL His head turned towards Trump and the Emir held back a smile and looked at the audience like "This guy's an idiot" as Trump rambled on.

He said almost the same exact thing back in Oct.
    Video on link.

Trump then tried to explain how "tough and dangerous" it was for Qatar to be involved in negotiations, as their geographical position put them in the midst of "unbelievably hostile" territory.

"They were very brave and their leader, The Emir, was very brave," Trump said. "His country is right in the middle of everything. More so than any other country. His country, you walk across a line and you're there."

"Other countries are there, but they're an hour or an hour and a half away, big difference," Trump continued. "They're literally, you walk over from Iran to Qatar. You can walk it in one second. You go 'boom boom' and now you're in Qatar, that's tough territory."

Trump's comments on the proximity of the countries are inaccurate. According to Google Maps, the distance between Iran and Qatar by car is 510 miles, and it would take about 23 hours traveling through Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. The two countries do not share a border. A direct flight takes around two hours.

Yes, ukraine definitely has refined them for practical war.

But if China can do this for fun. Imagine what they can do if their life depended on it.

I don't love the Chinese government but there is no doubt that their leadership is trying to improve the lives of their citizens in the most pragmatic way possible. Unfortunately that pragmatism infringes on personal freedoms and civil liberties.

Most MAGA did not want war with Iran. Thats why you saw so many prominent Trump supporters start to flip: Candance Owens, Tucker Carlson, Megan Kelly, etc. List goes on and on.

Meanwhile all these "Never Trumpers" were happy he was taking us into war with Iran. Now those same people are made at the MOU.

Flexing that this is Trump surrendering isnt the win the left thinks it is. More of them agreed with MAGA ironically on War with Iran which was lets not do it.

This MOU reminds me of my divorce from my first wife.

My lawyers quote, "If neither of you are happy with the settlement outcome, I have done my job".

Every country in the world is working on an exit strategy from the US. More Europeans see us as a threat, as they see China as a threat.

Putin has accomplished what he wanted regarding our demise. Unfortunately for him, he also F'ed himself over by overestimating his ability to take over Ukraine.

Iran is definitely happy with this. They couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Now they discovered a better deterent than nukes, no sanctions, and a half trillion dollars to control their people.

They are going to produce a zillion drones to blanket the strait.

But gleefully followed Trump on his long walk off the short peer ... MAGA does not have principles per say; MAGA is a cult of personality. MAGA equally support "no new wars" as well as "bomb Iran into the stone age", without think twice about it. One has to look no further than some MAGA posters here.

US Officials Disclose Details Of Framework Deal With Iran
Senior US officials have disclosed details of the framework deal with Iran that is set to be officially signed during a ceremony in Switzerland on June 19.

The memorandum of understanding envisages ending the fighting on all fronts, including in Lebanon, reopening the Strait of Hormuz to commercial traffic, and ending the US naval blockade on Iran, according to the text read out on a background call with reporters on June 17.

    according to the text reading,

Iran reaffirms it “shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons,” while agreeing that its
enriched uranium stockpile would at a minimum be down blended on-site, the US officials said.

“That’s the floor,” one official said. “We will push for more than that.”

Aren't these the same words copied from Obama's multilateral nuclear deal with Iran,
in 2015, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)?

the level of commitment from Iran remains the same; the only difference is the amount of frozen Iran assets released.
    • Obama admin released $15 B
    • Trump 2.0 to release $300 B, 20 X that of Obama

for the same level commitment at 20 X the price, what a deal ?
