I’m at five episodes in and this show has been pleasantly good. It unapologetically captures that early Spielberg charm. Think Goonies in retirement. Worth a watch.

Looks interesting, is there anything political or gay in it?

I watched it. But, I had a hard time finishing it. I found it really hokey. Also, I don’t want to see a young guy making out with a seventy year old. Really unrealistic.

Hope this doesn't become a trend. Hands off grandma, dude.

A couple of other trends I've noticed recently... 1. Cheating is good and 2. Let's be sympathetic to evil. Both or those are in this show. That said, I made it through the show, and the monster was original. Would be interested to know the origin.

I binged this a few weeks ago. I really liked it. It may be canceled, but while there is some setup for a continuation of the story, it's very minor. You can watch it as a self-contained story and not be left disappointed because you didn't get a satisfactory resolution. I think it's worth a watch.

I wouldn’t call that political, just life.

Eh, it’s not like she’s an old dried up turkey. There are plenty of dudes who would take a swing at Gena Davis.

As for the show itself, it’s a homage to prime Spielberg movies. I can see how some people wouldn’t like it.

One of the themes of this show is examining morality. Even the villain Blaine says he was doing it all for love.

This. It’s a good show that ties itself up nicely. I imagine that when they’re creating it they’re thinking that these older actors wouldn’t be as viable for successive seasons, especially how modern shows take years to film for whatever reason.

Disappointed to see there's no 2nd season. But the more I think about it....the more I'm okay with it. Like someone else said, the ending provided enough closure. A 2nd season would almost feel forced.
