that’s crazy. Lassiter may be even better than Stingley. He needs to be signed long-term. CJ and two first round picks will get you in the top 10 probably. Hopefully, CJ turns it around this year.

We value CJ much differently. CJ and two 1st wont get you into the top 10., an All Pro level CB and two 1sts will get you into the top 10 and in range to draft your franchise QB.

I don't understand your criticism of him. How can you call him mediocre or a fringe starter? You say the idea that he is good is laughable, but his stats are way better than CJ, especially in touchdowns (Rushing/Passing) compared to turnovers.

Here's the last two regular seasons. Both played 31 games.

    Passing Yards
    Hurts 6,127 Stroud 6,768

    Rushing Yards
    Hurts 1,051 Stroud 442

    Passing TD/INT
    Hurts 43/11 Stroud 39/20

    Rushing TDs / Fumbles Lost
    Hurts 22/4 Stroud 1/2

    RTG
    Hurts 101.1 Stroud 89.95

    CMP%
    Hurts 66.75
    Stroud 63.85

    Sacks
    Hurts 70 Stroud 75

Hurts had 62 rushing and passing touchdowns combined with 15 turnovers and Stroud had 40 / 22 combined.

Just read what i wrote, look at who he plays with (unless you think it literally doesn't matter who the other 10 starters are?)

We aren't going to agree on this. I don't consider him a mediocre fringe starter. I also don't believe all guys who are surrounded by good players can put up those kinds of TD/Turnover stats if they aren't any good. Accuracy matters, confidence matters, turnover ratio matters, and being a dual threat who can run the ball and score a lot like he does sets him apart from mediocre players.

Hurts has really only been successful when he's had 9/10 level talent around him or better. When the talent around him has only been good to very good, he's really struggled. If you had put Hurts into the situation that CJ had in NE, where he had literally nothing, I think there's almost no chance hurts scores a point.

    LOL

I bet he wouldn't have had 4 interceptions, pouted and sulked on the sidelines and only scored 1 TD.

    Here we go.
Keep up with the lies, because that’s all you have.
CJ is not good, and the only reason you like him is because he’s black.

I am not buying all the off-season hype on CJ. He still has that "blank stare" on his face. I still think that he is suffering from some post concussion symptoms. It is criminal if they have not had a recent full neurological workup. It is not just about the team around him which has likely improved. It is more about his ability to process and execute information quickly, which I doubt has changed. The proof is in his upcoming season's performance. I sincerely wish him well, because the keys to the team's success are largely in his hands.

Still using flawed metrics to rate OL? That's like arguing over BA when WAR is available. The better argument is which WAR is better rather than whether any of them is worse than BA which isn't in the league of OBP.

Honestly, if he is still suffering from post concussion symptoms after all these months then he would have brain damage and no way they haven't done testing. I doubt that blank stare you talk about is anything like that, but I'm guessing.

I think the potential is there for him to have the best season since his rookie year, and that's what I'm hoping for. We have more additions to improve from last year's offense, and give CJ more breathing room. I can't wait for the season to begin!

I just hope our coaches step it up on offensive strategies, and coaching to where we actually score more touchdowns in the red zone for a change. I have no worries at all about our awesome defense, who kept us from losing more games than not last year. Time for our offense to show us they mean business now.
