Now the offseason is officially official. It’s on.

what will KD do? TheGoodGuys’ moves are in his hands. Has he conveyed to the FO he’s staying? If so, he’s staying. Has he indicated he’s wanting out? Then he’s gone, and gone to a destination he wants. (KD would ok a handful. Where? Heat, mebbe, as the Godfather wants KD as backup wish if he doesn’t get Giannis. Mavs as KD wants Kyrie. DMV to finish full-circle at home with AD and Trey?

But for certain, what happens happens due to KD.

He’ll do whatever helps him pass Kobe on the scoring list

If there’s a a team out there that thinks KD makes them a contender, we should explore that option if the return makes sense for us. I wouldn’t want to take back bad contracts. Otherwise, I think we should just run it back with this team with small tweaks and see how diminished Fred and Adams are. If they are unusable, make some trades in-season.

I'm not sure the Rockets could find a trade partner for KD, but if they can, I'm all for it. Get whatever you can for him, and commit to the youth movement.

Durant and DFS to the Warriors for Butler, Podz, and the 11th pick.

I agree. I don’t think you send him anywhere he doesn’t want to go. I also don’t think anyone other than a contender would be willing to trade for him. So you explore the opportunity. There are some questions about this team following injuries to major contributors, but KD obviously was comfortable with that team. Let’s give it a shot again if we can’t find a no-brainer deal. It’s not like FVV and Adam’s depend on speed and athleticism. They may return without significant drop off.

Unfortunately as soon as the youngsters overachieve, somebody like a 33 year old Zion will become available and we'll do a dumb ass trade

KD didnt consult the organization when he threw his teammates under the bus.

The organization doesnt need to consult KD when it comes to trading his ass.

Thank you. F*ck KD. Send his ass to Alaska for all I care. Too bad Washington spent all their dumbassery on the ghost of AD. I’d love to send him to that Siberia. Unfortunately, SA and OKC aren’t stupid enough to ruin their teams for him. Maybe to the Bucks if they are desperate enough to appease the Greek fink. Unfortunately Dallas got rid of their bonehead GM or maybe we could have fleeced them. Any other sucker teams with a decent frp this year?

If dealt, he'll go to a "contender".

But, we shouldn't cater to him in such a way as to limit the market.

KD does still have a lot of value.
    Again ...
78/82 games played, 2nd in the NBA in minutes
    45/yr
    26/5.5/5
One of the best closers in the game
    42% from 3...on high volume.
    Great mid range
    Underrated D!

He needs to be on a team with the pieces in place, and not asked to do too much..along with a reduction in minutes.

    We need to sell now.
KD needs to go out for high quality young player (s) plus picks...

The problem is that you have to take back garbage contracts to get picks. I’d almost prefer to just ride his contract out.

I like your outcome, but I think you are overrating his value. If we can get one pick inside the lottery, I’d be surprised. KD is still a great scorer, but he is not good at anything else and any team getting him will have to adjust to his single-mindedness on how he has to get his. KD would be great for our team if he would relegate himself to an off-ball role and moving without the ball. He also is very lazy on defense, be that because of age, how many minutes he was forced to play, or indifference I’m not sure. Bottom line is,if we fans can see his warts, so do other smart GM’s. A smart GM might take a limited gamble that their coach could fit him in, but there’s not a one that is going to give up a good pick and good young players for him (although I hope you are right). Unfortunately, we have a dumbass GM and coach and they won’t shop him unless he gives them the go ahead.

I doubt the return on KD is very much despite the strong play and recent games played - KD has to solve a very specific shooting need for you to pull the trigger - I think most teams see that if you need him to be a leader or playmaker than he is most certainly not up for the task. You really only trade for KD if you are both a contender AND you are one elite shooting man away from a serious contender and that’s a fairly small list to make KD’s contract worth it.

…the only reason we pulled the trigger was because much of the roster was still on rookie deals at the time.

I can't imagine him actually wanting to come back, but you never really know with him.

Their critics will claim there’s no place to drop off.

I think we pulled the trigger, because Stone wanted to save face. He made the Nets to Phoenix picks move to target Booker. When Phoenix called his bluff, he rotated to Durant and acted like that was the plan all along. He is a disingenuous prick.

what would be interesting to me would be if KD wanted to go full circle back to DC.
