I don’t remember much from the 1999 Finals, but I don’t recall Knicks fans taking over the Spurs arena like they did now

it was surreal to watch a Finals game be like a regular season Rockets-Lakers game at Toyota Center

it’s honestly kind of deflating when your home game is 50% road fans, but when you’re on the road, ain’t a fan of your team in sight at the road arena

How are you hearing “defense” chants while you’re running your play on offense…your guy misses a free throw and there’s cheers

if Spurs fans were really in NYC like that, they would’ve been moving outside in packs for protection

all these lone Spurs fans in a sea of orange and blue were being given the beats

It's easy to forget but the Spurs entered the Finals as the significant favorite in Vegas to win it all..and they were upset in only 5 games. Brutal.

Nobody going to mention it and there's other narrative that will predominate - but the Knicks, like all champs got incredibly lucky in terms of opponents

Hawks a joke & gave up.

76ers were done after 7 games v Boston - a week of rest.

Cavs were old and done after TWO 7 game series & quit after game 3
    Knicks took the week off.

Spurs just got done with a knockdown drag out 7 game war OKC series against the best team, defending champ, 2x MVP that everyone was freaking out about at the time bc of the intensity (rightfully)

You could see the Spurs visibly running out of gas in the 4th all 5 games, sort of like what started happening to both teams towards the end of the WCF. Seems like as big a factor as any.

OKC would beat NY. Things worked out their way.

The Rockets would have totally beat NY and taken advantage of the inexperienced Spurs....

Such a satisfying win for the Knicks. It was their time.

More satisfying to see the Spurs lose. F*** San Antonio!

Spurs face some injuried teams though like OKC without their second best player.

people are still under the assumption that the west is way better than the east because of all the star players but these east teams are stacked with depth

Without their 2nd and 3rd best playmakers (and players)? Nah.

I was very annoyed the Spurs advanced to the Finals, but after the way it played out, it's all good.

50%? Did you notice the seats in the upper deck after the game when trophies were handed out and guys were being interviewed were 90% full, with screaming Knicks fans? My wild guess is the crowd was 2 to 1 in favor of the Knicks.

This was like an old-time Bulls game in Milwaukee.

I wonder if Knicks won the finals while leading the least amount of minutes combined.

LOL - they have Trump in the lower right corner. Do they not know that a) many New Yorkers despise Trump and b) the only game the Knicks lost was the one he personally attended? Why don’t they edit him out and replace him with John McEnroe who’s a real Knicks fan?
