LOL wow, what a friggin play to end it, Altuve you glorious SOB! Pena with the GG catch and what a great toss.
Astros move to 9-13-1 in series this year. The 8 game losing streak in April remains the hole they haven’t gotten out of.
Cam is also pretty trash at the ice box. I genuinely don't think the batter's eye is big enough at daikin. especially for young players.
IMO there’s no rationale for why this happens. Cam Smith last year had a .752 OPS at home and a .589 on the road.
He didn't look good. He was easily going to give it up again but lucked out with Pena making a fantastic defensive play.
Burrows with no multi allowed today for the first time since Reagan was president. He's been underwhelming for sure, but he's giving 5+ every time taking the mound. If Imai was able to do similarly, Santos ERA would have scathed catapulting 50% in 24 hours. Thus, MORE suck stats on Houston's name. Maybe one fewer Abreu sighting. Astros are now same 500 position as after Altuve's TOOTBLAN gone wild -- that was 4 games ago. This is how time and seasons get wasted. Astros have done this all year. Go streaking. Mariners and Rangers L
Enter yesterday.... but only 4.50 ERA added from last night. Astros can't be worse than 3rd in any category. Month and a half is long while.
Espada overuses Hader "stupid Espada", Espada doesn't overuse Hader "stupid Espada". I for one am happy our stupid ass front office seems to have actually put some usage guidelines in place. I blame the whole organization for his over usage last season. When your starter doesn't make it out of the first it really puts you in a tight spot if the next game is also close. At least Burrows managed to stumble his way through 5. Bryan King not so low key the bullpen MVP for the first half.
Im trying to not get too excited. I do that often and convince myself this team as it is can do serious things to make up another horrible start to season and then rage when they can't live up to my fantasy. Blame being on me ofcourse there 100%. We need couple of great win streaks soon but have doubts because so often we need to burn house down to close a win. With 9-0 lead you are set for possible sweep and BP being fresh and we end up burning every fkin mfker there. Would be great to rip 8-10 win streak here but also realise how much energy that would burn. We need much more in the tank to fight and now we are not even close to .500 yet. I was remembering last season we lost and lost and lost in second half but now checked that we did go almost .500 going 39-42. We were 48-33 at halfway point which is now 9 games way. That seems pretty far away. Our odds of making the playoffs are pretty low. If we don't make it, being a high payroll team could we go back hiring people to do stuff that they actually have done before. There must be professionals out there that Crane tempt with money and possibly even promise to not meddle himself . Royals pitcher today Kolek has been solid last 3 but has no super stuff so chance to keep it going. Walker keeps still hitting and Yordan being pitched to hopefully continues.
