We need to be realistic on him. He likely will never be better than Castle. He’s not an explosive player with great handling and playmaking ability. Although handling could improve and minimal explosiveness. He’s not Nash or CP3. He has never been a natural point but rather a scoring combo guard. I think he just needs to focus on a few things and do them well. Master a FT line jumper Constantly Moving without the ball to get in right positions for open looks Driving with contact using shoulder to bounce defenders off him Work on threes in tight situations like off a screen with a hand in face Pay attention on defense and be physical instead of fuc*ing around
Damn lol people in here still trying to say Reed is better than Castle bro couldn't even hang with a D-league Lakers team.
You do know it’s the responsibility of the rest of the players to elevate their games and perform well when important or star players are injured right? You’re making an excuse for poor play. TT
Wrong thread, but yeah, I agree. Nothing will be sweeter than Wemby choking again, for the 4th time this series, as their coach says they actually won analytically, and Spurs fans return to rooting for the Cowboys.
I do hope the Spurs are dumb enough to blame it on Wemby instead of on Castle killing his team over and over again. It's unlikely, but it would be amazing.
Don’t worry, the media is already calling Wemby a choker. That’s what a true Rockets fan wants. Wemby to get labeled a choker, then leave San Antonio bc he can’t take the heat. Happened after Shaq got swept twice in a row in ORL, could happen again.
It’s not fair to call it a referendum on Reed vs Castle. What it really is is the debate the organization had to have about Amen vs Castle. Because if you draft Castle there’s no way both him and Amen can share the court. Reed on the Spurs would be shooting like 48% from 3 based on how much gravity Wemby has and how wide open he gets as a result. And Castle on these Rockets, not to mention with this coaching staff, would probably be around 25% from 3. But hey, at least Ime would get his way and we could all revisit the JVG era of 24 second violations and 82-81 game scores.
The labels given by the unwashed masses are irrelevant, especially in a small market like San Antonio. What will matter is if the FO of the Spurs is dumb enough to think that Castle is a quality player and . That's something that could DEFINITELY lead to Wemby wanting out as the team fails over and over again.

reg season top 3 spurs shooters vs Sheppard 38% of champagne’s 3s were wide open (defender more 6ft). (2.3/game) 41% open (defender 4-6ft) (2.5/game) 27% of Vassel’s 3s were wide open (1.7/game) 50% open (4.9/game) 44% of Fox’s 3s were wide open (2.3/game) 49% open (2.6/game) 48% of Sheppard’s 3s were wide open (3.4/game) 34% open (2.4/game) As you see he has more wide open looks than any of the Spurs. He also takes most attempts per game (7.0) than any of them. Champ (6.2) vassel (6.4), fox (5.5) 48% of Sheppard’s 3s were wide open which he shot 47% 34% of them open yet he only shot 32%. Let’s stop the misinformation he didn’t get wide open looks with the Rockets. What he couldn’t hit was when defender was close by and he couldn’t hit open shots.
Hey Castle fan group. So far 0-7 overall and 0-3 from three. I hope you guys can manifest a better 2nd half for him.
But, Harper was a -12, Vassell, -11, Champ -10, and Wemby was -3 to Castle's -1. According to Bobby, that means Harper lost the game, and Castle did all the other things it takes to win, on an off-shooting night. Am i doing it right? Another loss for +/- metrics....lulz
