Where do we think he might end up?

I think a swap with Jaylen Brown and Giannis is a Celt

lol I’m so tired of (hearing about) this guy.

Just as bad as the Carmelo saga and Dwightmare.

“Me no ask for trade. You no hear that from me. Me no speak for me agent or what other people are saying. Me want to stay Buck but me cannot predict the future. Ask me tomorrow or a week from now or a month from now or 6 months from now, me answer may change. But me want to stay Buck. That’s what you hear from me.”

Apparently he wants to stay in the East.

2 months later it'll be "I want to stay in Milwaukee"

    2 months later it'll be "I want a trade"

A month later "I never asked for a trade"

He might not want the judgment that comes from playing guilt-free on a team that has no chance at winning a championship. I say let him stay there and get lucky and compete again or not get lucky and finish his career with only one title run. Durant is the cautionary tale.

Durant didn't want the judgment of playing guilt-free on an overpowered team and winning championships. So, he's been trying to prove himself worthy ever since and that's led him to bounce from team to team. Even his move to Golden State was him desperately and blindly chasing a championship.

There's a word called "sentimentality". A certain house you bought with good life memories. The schools district in which he sends his children and relationships formed. The thought of leaving that all that behind motivates him to try to make it work in Milwaukee. Giannis is the type of guy that goes out and takes advantage of a lower key area like the Milwaukee area and socializes publicly without being constantly hounded by the press.

the Rockets should consider shopping KD to the teams that won’t get Giannis

The Timberwolves, meanwhile, are also seen by some as an emerging option for the Bucks. While Antetokounmpo is known to prefer a trade involving a team in the Eastern Conference, league sources say the Bucks are interested in what Minnesota has to offer. If the Timberwolves want to get into the mix, league sources say the Bucks would want a package including Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, Terrence Shannon Jr. and their two tradable first-round picks (No. 29 in this year’s draft and their 2033 pick). Yet considering McDaniels’ immense value alongside Edwards as an elite perimeter defender, as well as his impressive postseason performance, team sources say Minnesota has indicated that McDaniels is off limits. Per those sources, the same goes for 19-year-old big man Joan Beringer.

Wouldn't Giannis want to stay in the (L)Eastern Conference? Stars tend to get what they want: "I'm not re-signing there," whatever, although I can't imagine Damian Lillard was begging for a trade to Milwaukee (maybe he got talked into it).

Boston makes more sense in terms of assets / players than Miami. If the Bucks want young players and assets rather than (an unhappy) Jaylen Brown, we could step in there, although Brown's salary is getting........prohibitive.

Giannis is not as good a fit as Brown in Boston. I see close to zero chance of it happening.

If healthy, Giannis is a huge upgrade from Jaylen Brown and I think he'd be a perfect fit. Their offense would spread the floor for him and his gravity would generate a crazy number of wide open 3s.

A trade would require the Bucks to flip JB to an acceptable 3rd team, like maybe the Hawks.

Jalen Brown is one of the reasons that Boston can spread the floor. He is a 39% 3 pt shooter on wide open 3’s. Giannis is also older and injury prone.

JB isn't their only 3-point shooter and Giannis is a more lethal offensive weapon than JB. He is a physical bludgeon that wears teams out.

The Celtics are in "win now" mode, so age 31 vs. 29 doesn't matter much. The injury concern about Giannis is very legit though.

Boston ended the year as the 2nd seed in the East despite having their best player injured almost all the year. They have 34m under the second apron to spend to find a starting center that will put them roster-wise back to their championship season. I just see no reason for the Celtics to take a gamble with their two-headed monster.

Giannis, if healthy, is better at getting to the hoop and defense than Brown, but just marginally. Brown is a bit younger and not as injury prone. Brown is already under contract, albeit a very expensive contract, through the 28/29 season. Giannis is going to want a super max extension through his age 35 season at minimum. The celtics are one of the smartest organizations in basketball. I think your take is reasonable, but I don’t seeing them taking that kind of gamble.
