Lol, the Spurs coach is vastly overrated in my book. The way they allow Wemby to play is a Joke. Castle is far from their problem this round.
Well, they took Flynn and Rubio back-to-back ahead of Curry. But, back then, the Rubio pick could be understood, I guess. They took Ty Lawson later that round and traded him to Denver and also had a 4th pick in the first round they used on another guard.
I think Harden would have been Harden if he was drafted by any team. Steph might have turned out differently on another team other than the perfect storm Warriors. Fun to debate though.
Now he can’t play? Lol Ok. You’re just spouting now. Deaaron Fox & Poor coaching has bitten them in the butt.
It's just a fact. Feel free to double check anything I've said so you can see for yourself. I get that some people get too attached to what they think they are seeing when their eye test doesn't match reality... but it is what it is
Man, those of you who are most embarrassed by Reed's showing thus far as a pro are proving to have the most embarrassing takes as well. This one's a classic. Don't let the expert opinions get in the way of your fanboi-ism.
Sorry kid, but the facts are the facts. The Spurs have a negative net rating in the playoffs when Castle is on the court compared to when he's on the bench. He's the ONLY starter where this is the case and the only guard on the Spurs roster where this is the case. I know that casuals tend to just go with what the talking heads tell them to think, and that's adorable, but the facts are the facts. Also.... Even despite Ime's sabotage limiting his volume and role, Reed was still a better player this season than Castle overall. Have the players swap teams and the Spurs sweep the Knicks in the finals and the Rockets probably don't make the playoffs.
You Reedbois are so cute when someone corrects you. Selectively trotting out stats only when it helps you attempt to make your case, then lambasting others when they do the same, is the hallmark of someone who doesn't watch the games. But hey, I get how embarrassed you must be after 30 months of telling us that Sheppard is going to the next Steve Nash.
I figured it would go over your head, that's fine. I don't think anyone expects all that much from you. By all means, stay down on your knees for that scrub Castle, it's hilarious.
The way the play Wemby on offense is lazy. Parking him above the 3pt line. He should play more mid post and develop spots on the floor where he can be efficient. Also you could set screens for the guy to get him looks. Allowing him to handle constantly created indecision in game 2 between he and a guard and resulted in a turnover. That lost the game. Plus, They’re not taking advantage of Brunson on defense, and they wait too long to call timeouts to break a run. Also, Fox was killing them with stupidity from the late 3rd quarter on. That’s all coaching.
The Spurs don't have an elite offensive engine. Wemby isn't there yet (I hope he never will be but he may improve enough to get there). They are also young and inexperienced generally, but especially when it comes to playoff basketball. They're here because OKC choked trying to repeat.
True. But also consider that article was written after Curry's first year in the league, I think. Curry hadn't even become anything close to prime Curry yet.
By "offensive engine", do you mean an individual? I ask because the Spurs entire offensive is a pretty damn good one because everyone plays a role in it and does it pretty well. Their entire offense is a pretty elite offensive engine because they're all high IQ guys, are willing to take a step back for the good of the team, have skills that overlap and cover for one another, etc. - kind of like OKC. People can say OKC choked, but the Spurs had their number in the regular season and they beat them again in the playoffs. OKC needs to figure them out. Both of those teams are still among the best teams in the league while being extremely young. It's only going to get worse for the rest of the league from the looks of it.
