Jury summons process. Just a lot of hurry up and wait inconveniencing 100s of people for hours so 5 or so people (judge, lawyers) aren't inconvenienced for 30 minutes.
I’ve been able to avoid it my whole life through a combination of luck, being a student at different times and having kids later than a lot of my generational cohort.
