Ja Morant a possible trade target for Houston this offseason?

You would need to trade Jabari (Recent #3) and DFS which would get you to $36.9 mil + Future picks (BKN) to take back Morant $42 mil + #3 pick (for unloading him). This is all really about getting that #3 and getting another shot at a franchise player.

Re-sign Eason on a friendly deal and try to boost Morant's value over the season to get rid of him ASAP but have him roll on Unit 2 to max out the speed.

Sign me up. I was thinking something similar for Kyrie and 9 but #3 is probably worth more than any pg preference I have.

 

Why would Memphis make this trade??? Everyone knows Jabari's ceiling whereas Memphis have a chance to draft Cam Boozer who has the skillset of to build an offense around.
Most likely Ja Morant going to Phoenix for Jalen Green

 

I can’t believe any Rocket fan would even consider Ja, short of it coming with the 3rd pick in this draft. Ja is one of the most negative assets in the league. They will have to pay to get rid of him.

 

Not everyone is as sold on Boozer. Jabari and future picks and giving Memphis a way out on Morant, might be considered. Jabari is seriously underrated on this board. He is 22. That being said, I’m high on Boozer and might do the trade depending on the picks we would have to give up. It’s not anywhere near a slam dunk that Memphis would laugh at you.

 

Memphis is in love with Eddy. No need for Sengun. FVV is a neutral asset at best. The no. 3 would probably cost you at a minimum Jabari and multiple frp’s and holding your nose and bearing Ja for 2 years. Memphis would try for Amen, but I don’t think that would be considered.

There is no world where the Grizzlies agree to this. Ja isn’t some crazy toxic asset - he only has a couple years left. I’m guessing some team will either give up neutral assets for him, or minor positive assets.

 

Trade KD and stuff for #5. Trade #5 and Sengun for Morant/Edey and #3.

FVV/Amen/Jabari/Boozer/Adams w Edey/Reed/Okogie, etc.

 

Love this trade with a capital L. But sadly, Rockets have already announced they are not interested in Morant so this thread can be closed.
