I don’t believe either is a landing place for Ja, unless Memphis is adding draft assets. Ja is a negative asset and neither team has a need for Ja. It’s just clickbait.

The answer should be YES. A backcourt of Ja & Amen would be epic. The speed in which we'd play would be unmatched and I think we'd do fine without Sengun clogging up the paint.

A backcourt of Ja and Amen is not going to clog the paint? Their combined 3pt% will be around 30%.

Why would Rockets fans want Ja? He's just a slightly more talented and much less healthy Jalen Green, not to mention the off court character issues.

I feel like that would easily be the worst shooting bsckcourt in the league. I can’t imagine that would work out well, as it would only worsen our spacing problems.

Add more non shooters. Trade KD for Dyson Daniels and picks.

The guy has more baggage than LAX. Trade speculation this offseason had him at - value. Meaning, you would have to pay someone to take him.

Much like Zion shouldn't play in a culinary capital, Ja shouldn't play for a team in a state with an even bigger gun culture than Tennessee. :p

I don't think so. Ja is the best at making plays. Put him in pick & roll and use Amen as the roll guy. The insane amount of pace we'll play with will offset the shooting

Lol. Ja Morant is a superstar. He's not Steph but he's not afraid to take big shots. Jalen wasn't ever a playmaker so that's your comparison right there

The problem with Ja is that he's a small slashing guard in the NBA and this player archetype is ALWAYS hurt.

Westbrook I feel like is the only one that got the most out of that archetype and compared to guys like Ja, he has a lot more muscle and a few pounds on the rest of them.

Ja is going to come here, be exciting for a bit, get hurt, then do his crazy off court stuff since he'll be hurt and not focused on basketball. I think we've seen the best of Ja.

    Trade Amen for Morant

Sengun for a top 10 pick, Draft a shooter.

Sign another Big that can shoot in FA.

Not to mention he's averaged 26 games played over the last 3 years.

    Head case + always injured + 6'2" PG who's a lifetime .311 from 3 + below average defender. That's a hard pass from me.

Why would we trade Amen for Morant? Morant's trade value is literally underwater, while Amen has top 20ish trade value in the NBA.

Morant sucks ever since he realized he can't penetrate relentlessly because he will get hurt. Now he's slower and doesn't want to drive to the rim any longer, which mean he sucks.

I'd take his psychosis for the #3 pick. Just two years and we either trade him as an expiring in the off-season or cut his butt. In the meantime, try and drive his value back up.

That #3 pick would be the 3rd #3 we had and everyone knows the 3rd time is the charm!

You have a much higher opinion of Amen than I do.

A problem I see with these fast teams with Amen, is the natural assumption that KD and Jabari are a good fit for that.

On paper it looks like adding 2 great shooters to a lineup that needs shooting.

In reality, the way they play reduces the volume of the fast break running opportunities from even happening.

They don’t have the speed to defend on the perimeter, they’re frequently the ones in rebounding position close to basket and have to take the time to find the fast guys.

With their tall frames they play this reactive prevent defense, gearing up for the contest at the end with long arms. They can’t get in close and pressure the guy they’re guarding and force a mistake, if they get to close guy just blows by them.

Then they’re just not that fast up the court.

So you’re not forcing many turnovers, Amens not frequently getting the rebounds to turn and take off, you don’t have the speed sprinting to the corners.

It’s just not optimal, not as good of a fit as it sounds.

Trading for Ja would be a desperation move and also incredibly stupid.
