Some might say that. I preferred pure simplicity to vocal gymnastics. I have the same preference with National Anthem presentation. But I'm a son of a bivocational Church Music Director when he wasn't being a Chemist, Physicist or Chemical Engineer or Volunteering as State President for Mental Health or Suicide Rescue.
My 1st crush on a celebrity was Karen Carpenter. Although I love me some Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks. One of my ex brother in laws went to Thomas Jefferson HS in Port Arthur with Janis Joplin.
Can't confirm, but my buddy's dad was in that same class: Jimmy Johnson Janis Joplin Alton Landry were lined up in homeroom
Creative people often don't fit the norm and can be misunderstood or can go down a dark path. I like a couple of her songs and that she was from Texas, that's about all my investment in understanding her life.
It's just an observation about how a consensus about a person can change drastically over time. I won't get into whether the better evaluation was the initial one or the rewrite. But there is always a range of opinions at any time beyond merely good or bad. Like what makes art good?
Ullola could The fact that they sent him to the pen doesn't mean they are giving up on him, its more that they don't think he will be able to contribute as a starter but they feel like his stuff is good enough to play at the big league level Who knows what will happen with a role change. It may have no positive effect. But it may be his path to helping out the 26 Astros too

As the official president of the yainer hater club , I always advocate for a move at C However , and maybe this is just bias . But I feel like the market for a top catcher may not be outrageous. And there are a couple of historically cheap teams with catchers heading into arbitration. If OAK is out of it (this is unlikely but say the fates align and they are clearly a doormat again ) langaliers is a good hitting C who will be arb eligible. I don't know what kind of package oak wants , he's a good player . But none of the top contenders really need to move at Catcher . Here's another situation BAL with rutcshman. I know he was a hot prospect coming into the league , but he's had some mediocre years and is having a nice season but isn't looking like a superstar . Does BAL want to pay him ? What can they get for him ? Ofc if KC would ever trade salvy perez I would take him . He's been DH'ing , but his knowledge is elite . Maybe getting the chance to play in the playoffs would motivate him . I think adley or shea would be BIG buys . Maybe diaz has value as a stopgap with upside . Our farm has been somewhat restored and we have a big draft to replenish (I know most people want to build) I'm not leaning towards being a big buyer in general , but I think/ hope the market for a top catcher could be a little less than usual . Teams may not know how to properly value framing /game planning / hitting . It's a very interesting position to look at in terms of responsibilities.
Both Langeliers and Rutschman are having extremely good years and are on track for 4+ win seasons so their prices would be very high. The A’s are not trading Langeliers to the Astros while they are still competitive in the division, and really even if they fall out of it they are extremely unlikely to trade Langeliers at all, especially to a team in the division. Rutschman is a little more realistic as a trade candidate because he only has one more year of control left and the Orioles have a ready replacement for him in Basallo. But the price would be very high. For the Astros that might mean something like: Astros get: C Adley Rutschman Orioles get: OF Cam Smith C Yainer Diaz P Bryce Mayer P AJ Blubaugh That’s a big price for 1.5 seasons. The other consideration is that it’s pretty rare for starting catchers to change hands midseason. Most teams don’t want to risk having all their pitchers get used to a new catcher.
The way his performance is trending, Rutschman would cost well beyond what Crane has ever been willing to offer a free agent.
