I wasn't talking about policy. I was talking about the adulterer types, and kind of guys who think women shouldn't get drunk if they don't want raped. Anyway, I just can't believe these types are the best male candidates Wisconsin can find. Sad.
Ideally we could have folks running for Senate who have been oriented toward running for office since grade school and never have done, said or posted on social media thinking ahead toward their future campaigns thirty to 50 years later. A real bio detail of many of our existing politicians is they were class presidents from kindergarten , elementary, high school etc. Hey even I a non-alcoholic married once, never addicted to drugs, alcohol etc.. might have problems running for office after some of my posts on CC. Fans. The vast majority of all existing politicians have whitewashed their bios as best they can. The highlight how poor or working class or disadvantaged they once were e.g Kamala the child of two foreign grad students who became tenured professors worked part of a summer at Mc Donald's etc. Even the sainted mild mannered extremely image concerned Obama smoked pot etc. No need to talk about the Orange Man who despite his felonies and horrible conduct is hiding many probably worse things.
He's 41. He made those Reddit posts as recently as 2021, just five years ago. He himself claimed they were from "12 years ago" which isn't accurate. This isn't a teenager or young adult finding his footing; he was a grown man in his mid-to-late thirties. He's apologized and attributed them to PTSD, which deserves some credit and does make him categorically different from Trump, who has never genuinely apologized for anything. So the equivalence some will draw isn't really there. That said, the PTSD explanation doesn't fully square with posts spanning nearly a decade. I don't think he's qualified, though I'd leave a narrow exception if the PTSD claim is genuine and he's demonstrably worked through it. That's a lot to take on faith.
People grow, people change - let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. As long as they are on team Democratic socialist, I am going to vote for them, we are too far into this RICH getting away with murder we need a hard left turn. DD

What was the comment? This one? I honestly have no issue with this comment on reddit. I tell my daughter to be careful who she parties with or accepts a drink from. Maybe he didn't say it in the most PC way, but I have no issues with it. He's not condoning rape. He's saying that there are rapist out there and you need to take some responsibility in protecting yourself from them.
Maybe you are a man and see it differently. Sure, you have to be careful, and I agree with warning your daughter. It's the way he said it that pissed me off. Maybe what he should have said was, "Any man or who preys upon and rapes a vulnerable woman or spikes her drink to knock her out of her senses should have his d*ck cut off. No woman deserves to be pretend upon by predators." You can't blame a victim for getting raped. You can't hold them responsible for getting raped.
Maybe. It's also reddit. People say things on reddit just like they say things here in a way they wouldn't in real life. I have people I care very much about who have been raped and its horrible. However, this very similar to saying don't walk into a bad neighborhood if you don't want to get robbed. It's not condoning the robberies; it's just stating the realities of the world. I understand why you are sensitive to it, but I don't think it's that bad especially when it's the worst thing they could find that he said. I'm not voting for him and he wouldn't be my first choice for many reasons, but he's a lot better than the devil we do know in Collins.
I guess it's a combination of things that makes me ask, "Is this the best you can come up with Wisconsin? Aren't there candidates who aren't lying adulterers worthy of representing your state in the Senate? I just think a man who will lie and cheat on his wife would lie to the people. Maybe it's just me, but that's how I feel.
