I'm surprised they didn't mention Ime's guy, Jaylen Brown.

A move of Bari and Sengun for him would bring a lot of balance to the lineup. You would need to figure out the center position. And FVV is a big question mark imo.

Priority number one is getting Sengun into the Complex top 25 best dressed list....

Investing in designer clothing and bags that better fit his style is a must this upcoming year. Colors is a department Sengun needs to work on and bringing the ageless flamingo back is essential.

Time is ticking for Sengun, patience will not last forever...Rockets need to stay focused and bring in top designers to work with him...

You know KD is ripping him on the burner for that. At least Cocaine Bear had style.

Giannis doesn’t want the Rockets, just wasting time on it.

Why do national coverage guys always love Jabari and never once say “If I was X team I would trade X player for Jabari” and then say “Holy ****, that fixes all of Houston’s problems too, they’d be good.”

Liked the 2nd round pick call outs Emmanuel Sharpe and Richie Saunders.

Obviously Sam is a big proponent of a Giannis trade, but like others have said, he has to want to come here and I don’t think we are on his list. I personally would rather go in a different direction.

Another important admission was that the rockets are not really in a “window” right now. They just aren't good enough. They would need a gigantic trade to get into a “window”, and then you have to figure out depth.

I did think the Sengun for Trey Murphy trade ideas were interesting. And if I thought adding Kyrie alone would make us a contender, I’d be for that, but because he does not, I wouldn’t want to give up significant assets for him.

I was disappointed they didn’t consider what a strategic reset would do. I did think their takes on Amen, Sengun and Tari were pretty fair.

It seemed more than a bit lazy. They are doing it for 30 teams so its very understandable, but it's not a great discussion about where Houston is IMO.

Hmm... Y'all know Jaylen Brown is really good right?

Jabari is fine. I just don't see him ever being more than a role player. He lacks both quickness and strength to be much more than he already is. Sengun's weaknesses are well documented as well. I dunno... I don't mind it. I'd rather include Bari and keep draft picks personally. At least you have a chance at a centerpiece with a draft pick.

    JB's amazing.
But, he's got a history of knee problems, and has the huge contract.
    Perhaps most importantly, he's 30.
The Rockets have no business "going for it".
Au contaire, we need to stay young...extend our timeline...not shorten it.

Jabari's a lock as a dozen year starter.
And, I've seen enough to say he's probably going to be more than just a role player. Big men take longer.
At his salary, lots of value...with plenty of upside.

On Sengun, I'd deal.him..but, only for a big haul, And , it should involve a quality young player and picks. Not an older veteran.
He's really going to show out in the right system, and with good coaching.
He's on a good deal too.
All that said, I believe he needs to go.

Love Vencenie, but disagree with so much to this episode. I'm high on Sengun of course, but leaving that aside -- the things I disagree with most in the episode is that his advocacy of the Giannis trade and not including ANY talk on potentially trading KD.

Trading a massive haul for a 30+ year old Giannis coming off two injury plagued seasons, all so Amen can become the next young player scapegoat due to his lack of shooting making him such a bad fit with Giannis, that all seems like a really dumb idea to me.

And having no mention of potentially trading KD is odd and surprising to me.

Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

Sure, but to offer a counter-view here.
The Rockets just won 52 games without a PG.

Brown in for Alpy and Jabari doesn't win a championship, but it might open up other moves that make us closer than we think.
Eg, can we offer a pick and matching salary for Myles Turner to shore up the interior defence; renegotiate FVV to potentially open up full MLE [etc etc]
FVV / Brown / Turner / Durant / Thompson can win 55+ games with a built out bench.

No point locking in to 10 years of Jabari to hope for 50ish wins.

Ultimately we either trade Durant, or fix our mismatch [Alpy/ Reed defence or Alpy/ Amen offence].
For me, either KD or Alpy goes to improve. Otherwise we are standing pat and in danger of decline

He's indeed an excellent player. One though that is about to turn 30 years old and has never made a 1st team all nba at no point in his career.

So you use the 10th pick in the draft. Dillon Brooks. 2nd overall pick, 3rd overall pick. lose 1st round picks cam whitmore, josh christ, tyty washington, garuba, 1st round pick and only all star. for 2 guys in their 30's (one late 30's)

Left with from all of those years of losing with Sheppard and Thompson and maybe Eason.

Keep in mind this is after the playoffs where the 4 vets on the team in their 30s played essentially one game. The team should have never traded for durant.

If you think those vets all now one year older and adding more players with wear and tear will beat teams that can throw young player after young player is in my opinion an exercise in futility.

If you are trading away Sengun and Jabari you trade it from mediocre to below average contracts with picks coming back. You trade away Durant for picks. Because after you do trade those guys you dont get better in the future you just get older more injury prone and worse. Until you turn into the Clippers with no way out. Because at that point you dont want to tank again because you just did that and ownership will not start that process again. So you are trapped with no way out.

That would be a formidabIe team.

Personally, I'm not looking at trying to contend in the short term.

I do think it imperative that KD gets moved for quality youth now.

To my way of thinking, we keep Amen, Bari, and Reed.

I realize this sounds kinda radical and won't happen.

    Just my .02.

Nah Andrew Wiggins can dribble, run a 4.6 40 yard dash, catch a ball while running at the same time, and switch on to Shai Gilgeous Alexander or Luka. Jabari’s ceiling is John Collins
