The tops are pretty nice. The shorts are horrible and way too busy. I don’t know how the R has stuck around this long.
To me, the NBA's City program should've been done similar to Major League Baseball, where teams wear them for 3 seasons. I'm honestly not sure why it wasn't, since Nike partners with both MLB and the NBA. The problem when you do it every year, there are only so many concepts you can come up with that truly resonate and fit before it becomes either repetitive (in which case, what's the point?) or too "out there" because marketing people are having to try way too hard to find something different. I think doing it every year, inevitably the program is gonna run out of creative juice.
Honestly the belt around the ball is great if implemented properly. Not just an R and have the whole team name spelled out like this. Agree with whoever says the waistband for white should’ve had / been red and vice versa. That the R logo is somehow important to our brand is horseshit, unless they mean China money. The font is cool, but man my favorite retro look still has to be 2011-2014 alternate red-yellow with Houston. Way more character, unique and executed. I don’t understand why Nike insists on putting numbers and team / city name so close together. City jerseys are usually the best ones and gave us that remix jersey, dunkstronaut etc so can never be happy with that.
I wish the R was gone but it's not. My first reaction wasn't love, but I also don't hate them. They are better than they were in the T-Mac era. We'll see. Need to see them play in them before I firm up by feeling on them.
After watching their interview they obviously know everyone loved the dunkstronaut uniform so instead of just making those the mains they totallly went opposite of it. GENIUS! Org is dumb all the way through.
Dunkstronaut court was gorgeous, please no McDonalds mockery logo on the court please! Where’s the subtlety in all of this. It’s all screaming we want you to like us a bit too much. Also KD caring lol, hope he’s still gone ASAP. What do you think of the pinstripes, are they subtle or Hornets rebrand obvious?!
It costs a lot of money to do a full redesign. A lot cheaper to anagram everything and do a hype unveiling video.
We already have the Dunkstronaught court design. All you would have to do is make a black and red version Jersey. That cant be more expensive than what they did.
