It's almost impressive how the Rockets always find a way to **** up the uniforms even more. These are ****ing terrible what the ****ing ****
I’m tired of the R logo. I thought they were going to bring back the old school championship logo but with a modern twist. That or dunkstronaut logo would’ve been better than the R.
The more i look at these, they're a big improvement over the previous jerseys. At least this one has some personality to it and doesn't look like some create a team jersey. Im so glad the black is gone from the red uniforms
How hard is it to just bring back the original jerseys with the same font and logo? These new designs look like cheap knockoffs you'd get off the clearance rack at Weiner's.
I’m really digging these. I like how they went all in and represented all eras. The triangular patch is very NASA and it makes me happy we are doubling down on Houston culture. Pinstripes go hard and glad we have the Jordan logo
Teams can't go back to their original jerseys with the same font and logo. It has to be modernized to fit the current league.
I just don't understand why the organization continues to use the awful "R" logo. It was met with a lukewarm reception when it debuted and it still doesn't generate a lot of excitement. They had a perfect opportunity when Fertitta took over to rebrand like the Astros did and they failed. Now they finally bring back beloved elements from the past but do nothing with the logo except stick it in a triangle to make it look like a mission patch. You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd. I asked my 12 year old son to design a new logo the other day and he came up with something better. Shoot, we've seen countless iterations of better, alternative main logos over the years, and yet here we still are.
I like the mission patch - very Space City. But those pinstripes are vile and I still don't get it. According to Kitty's puff piece written by the Rockets' PR department, the stripes are "inspired by the team’s look from the mid-1990s and early 2000". Those Barkley/Pippen/Francis/Mobley teams had a few moments, but prior to Yao & TMac the team was objectively bad and the uniforms were the ugliest in the league. Who wants to be constantly reminded of that?
Feels less like a re-brand and more like just tweaking of the last 25 years, but done in ketchup and mustard. It also seems like they were more interested in stuffing in all these various things (the hideous R, the dunkstonaut, the "nosecone" thing, pinstripes, etc.) than in coming up with a gorgeous, classic design.
I like the idea of a mission patch, but it's another example of a missed opportunity. They could have drawn inspiration from from real patches in NASA's history but they just took the laziest route possible and stuck the R in a triangle and called it a day.
