43% is a high bar but he was just leading the league in 3 point percentage for half the season at age 24. There are lots of examples of 3 & D guys improving their shooting percentages dramatically in their mid to late twenties: Dort, PJ Tucker, Dillon Brooks, Trevor Ariza, Rui Hachamara, Andrew Wiggins. All those guys shot it worse than Tari early in their careers and then started making them age 25-27. Tari can shoot.
Cap space is extremely limited - about 5 teams. I would think that they'd prefer to spend that money on a better player than Tari. I think the MLE is the top of his earning potential, he screwed himself not taking that $100m offer last offseason. If it were up to me, I'd tell him and his agent to find a sign and trade that brings me something back and gets him where he wants to be at the best price for him.
Tari can shoot. He's just not elite enough to be an effective floor spacer. He has fairly good handles for his size. But he's a poor decision maker with the ball. His impact is mostly hustle and chaos creation on both sides of the ball, crash the board, play disruptive defense, attack the basket when there's an opening, etc.
Which is best suited for him to come off the bench but he wants to start and he wants starter type of money, that’s why I felt like Stone should have just traded him at the deadline.
If we did 40 times versus the Spurs and OKC it would be like OKC player Amen Spurs player Spurs player OKC player Spurs player OKC player Tari OKC player Spurs player OKC player OKC player Spurs player OKC player Spurs player OKC player Josh Okogie Reed Sheppard The “we don’t need him, low IQ narrative” isn’t getting it. We don’t just need to make smart controlled plays, we need to make them while matching that level of speed. It’s harder to not make mistakes, while moving fast, someone has to move fast to win basketball games. Everyone should try typing their next clutchfans reply while running Tari speed and see how it goes.
https://chicago.suntimes.com/bulls/2026/05/30/bulls-offseason-position-analysis-matas-buzelis FREE AGENCY: Graham’s no-shortcut approach carries a lot of weight in what the Bulls will do with all their salary-cap money, meaning it won’t be spent unwisely. A name to keep an eye on is restricted free agent Tari Eason, but that would play out only if something unforeseen happens with the No. 4 pick.
I don’t think Tari’s bet on himself worked out per my opinion. I think the Rockets might offer him the same offer they offered last season. Which I would be fine with.
Could we trade Sengun and maybe a draft pick to Chicago for number four with the handshake agreement that they can sign Torri to a contract and we will not match. They get to build around Sengun Patrick Williams Buzelis Tari Whatever else they have on their roster and they pick up a future valuable draft pick.
I don’t dig a vast majority of trades I see. But I would do this one. I would trade Durant for another future 1st. You would have: Sheppard Thompson Jabari 4th pick 2027 Nets 2027 Suns 2029 Mavs 2029 Suns Pick from Durant trade That is a lot of young talent still with 6 unknowns.
It definitely worked. Tari will get a guaranteed contract around $20M per year. The Rockets didn't offer any guaranteed money last year.
no idea what this means. But one of the concerns I’ve had abiut how we handle Tari extension is to what level he’s happy and bought in. Last season it was clear he was neither. That’s a big factor when considering extending someone on big money. Tari is unhappy with his role and there were times his attitude hurt the team last season. If he still feels that way we should have traded him. I’m gonna be very interested to see how we handle Tari’s extension and what the final number is. I think there’s a reasonable chance he wants to be on another team.
I fully get the vibe he thinks he should go to another team to be their "star." I don't think he actually has that level of potential, but if we can sign and trade him into either a useful player or some draft capital then let's still be a "player friendly" team lol.
He should have been traded at the trade deadline. I feel like Stone will match a contract that’s an overpay in order to save face.
Tari is ALWAYS going to be Tari. Looking back to his college days he came off the bench because he couldn’t fit within the offense not physically but mentally. Look at his heroic performances now. We don’t even run a real offense. He is a beast of a player just not one that can be tamed. We are overloaded with wings let’s see the options and move forward, just like he stated. His cap hit should be for a back court player anyway. I wish him only the best but he and the Rockets are not moving in the same direction and that is okay. Thank you for your service and good luck to you Tari. Having him on a rookie contract is fine but anything more is questionable. An injury prone, high motor disrupter shines only when on a nothing contract. He is the equivalent of mistress, good times nothing more. It’s time to go home and this is where the relationship ends.
Idk, over loaded with wings means nothing to me. Jabari/DFS/and KD are significantly slower than 4 guys the good teams close with, even their power forwards and Tari isn’t. Not being fast enough, not being able to match up, not being able to get close and make scorers uncomfortable isn’t as noticeable as making bone headed plays but it’s not any less of a problem towards what the scoreboard says. I’d argue it’s a worse problem.
