    I never used the word trash. No one praises and remembers losing teams or teams that came up short. There’s no trophy or awards for that. If you’re satisfied with continually losing and coming up short then that’s great. You shouldn’t want them to win a title since you’re satisfied with being a runner up or less than that.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    so that he can gaslight the fan base that the next flash-in-fan, a la Jeremy Lin,
    will be the 2nd coming of Iverson / CP3 / LBJ.

    did you trust him when he asserted that Lin will be the 2nd coming of Iverson/CP3?

    We brought back the likes of Aaron Brooks multiple times... so why not?

    Nobody is “satisfied” with losing. That’s a lazy way to frame the argument.
    There’s a difference between acknowledging failure and understanding context. The Rockets ran into arguably the greatest team ever assembled in the Golden State Warriors at their peak. That doesn’t magically erase how elite those Houston teams were.
    The 2018 Rockets won 65 games, were up 3-2 on Golden State, and statistically had one of the best offenses and switch defenses of the era. They were a championship-level team that happened to exist at the same time as a dynasty. History actually does remember teams like that because context matters. Wanting a title and recognizing reality aren’t mutually exclusive.

    Foster called off a shooting foul in that stretch.

    Didn't Stone say at his presser what is important is to "compete" and losing in the first round "should not be seen as a failure"?

    Does this open up a potential “KD for PG + picks” possibility?

    TF wasn’t gonna deal with Philly while Morey was there

    Hell, even the number of times Beard was undercut with no calls should tell them all they need to know. For those of us who watched it live we saw the way the refs completely psyched our guys out of the game with that bullshit, I swear, I'm going jail if I ever bump into Scott Foster, and it'll be worth it.

    The reality is they came up short and couldn’t beat that team and wasn’t able to with 2 different coaches and 4 iterations of Rockets teams. Your response to this fact that we couldn’t beat them in 2018, since they’re a great “dynasty” team is an oversimplification of this reality and exonerates the players, Morey, and Dantoni from any responsibility for the team’s failures. According to your logic any team that came up short and not being able to beat a legendary team shouldn’t be held accountable but the phenomenon is merely due to the other team being a juggernaut and legendary or dynastic team. The Jazz, Suns, Lakers, Sonics, Blazers lost not because of flawed roster construction, less talent, tactical errors but simply because Michael’s Bulls were too dominant?

    The truth is a mix of both perhaps. The Rockets weren’t as talented as the Warriors but still had a chance to win. They couldn’t close out the series due to a flawed offensive philosophy, roster construction, and less talent.

    Weaseled his way out? His new boss made him trade cp3 for Westbrook.

    Nah That’s an excuse. As bad as refs are the team should still be able to change their tactics or do something else when the 3 pt shot wasn’t working. This is the blame game all over again no different than game 3 this year. Fans didn’t blame Sheppard or Smith (although some did) but they directed their hate on the coach. We have seen refs control games but in the end players and coaches still have a chance to win and they simply didn’t execute in that game 7. Blame it on psychology or refs or anything else but bottom line Rockets didn’t win. Not good enough. Period

    Who’s fault is that? Didn’t morey say he was obsessed with beating them? He supposedly built a team to beat them in 2018. Did that happen? He also had a chance the very next year. How did it turn out?
