The Astros are in a mediocre division. As bad as they have been and the injuries they have they are 4.5 out of the AL West.
When you are literally 6th in runs scored but nearly dead last in run differential, you can sugarcoat it all you want. What universe do you all live in because it ain't reality. This is the worst team in baseball by a large margin.
Yainer is terrible, but doesn't count because What said "behind the pitcher," but you're right if you count Yanier being behind the pitchers when they turn around to watch the baseball fly over the fences. This team, when healthy, has great infield defenders (aside from Altuve), and 2/3 of a really good outfield.
What was the advantage to trading: Hunter Pence Lance Berkman Roy Oswalt Brad Lidge What did we get? Michael Bourn? Was Singleton the prize? Sometimes 3 steps back leads to 3 more steps back. This team is 2 starters and a reliever away from being really good. Easier to find 3 players than 12.
Exactly, FFS I had no idea so many had me on ignore, I must’ve really pissed people off and posted dumb ****. See Post 13 The **** stained gold standard for not having a fire sale is the 92-93 Padres ownership group. Loads of trades and shipped off four All Stars to basically end up with ONE player worth a ****, Trevor friggin Hoffman. No thank you.
Or just look at the team they’re playing this weekend and all the young talent they’ve stockpiled… and still mostly irrelevant.
Bc a fire sale doesn’t really have a great track record for future success. the Astros dynasty was build mostly on shrewd, underrated signings and good drafting, not by trading proven players for prospects. In fact, we haven’t had a ton of success with the prospect route at all outside of a few random home runs. If you could trade for draft picks in MLB then I would have a vastly different opinion on this.
Kyle Tucker hit a massive 3 run homer in the 8th inning of game 6 against the Red Sox to essentially seal the pennant in 2021. He also hit 2 homers in game 1 against the Phillies in the WS in 2022 but everyone forgot about that because Verlander **** the bed. He also caught the last out in the 2022 WS. Just letting you know in case you want to watch highlights since you clearly weren’t watching when the games were live.
This has to be a troll response, but I’ll bite. Because it’s not football, or basketball, or any other sport. There’s this kind of important factor in runs given up called pitching, which by itself isn’t really related to your defensive capabilities in the field.
A troll post calling a legitimate post with real stats a troll post. Wow. So I might as well troll your post with an actual troll post: so then if all that matters to defense in baseball is pitching, the other players behind the picture don't wv n need to be there. They are unimportant to the process.
If that was your version of a legitimate post, then instead of being a troll, you're just not very bright.
