BDN claimed Ali Gaye, but I would def be in favor of DB back in the rotation. That being said, Dominique Robinson COULD be a better version of Barnett.
This will not be the final list. People will get hurt. People will be replaced. Some might actually be added from FA or trades. A few will simply disappoint or be in something more important than football. I hate to say it, but we average about 1-2 players who will face non- football injury or disease. But all will make impressions about whether they can help in the future. The old rolodex replacement is full of names and this team usually needs over 100 players during the course of the season.
I saw Gaye on the official transactions list a couple of days ago. I generally wait for that because many speculate by using fantasy acquisition stories. Like several Clowney fantasy signings.
So ESPN says our biggest remaining hole is Edge depth https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...ster-holes-depth-needs-all-32-teams-postdraft The Texans' starting edge rushers are outstanding, with Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter combining for 27 sacks last season. However, edge rushers don't play every snap on defense. Last year, Anderson played 67% of defensive snaps, while Hunter played 70%. And the depth chart behind Anderson and Hunter is weak now that Derek Barnett and Denico Autry are gone. Dominique Robinson, who signed in free agency, had just 1.5 sacks in 12 games last season with the Bears. Dylan Horton has only a half sack over three seasons in Houston. The Texans are the perfect landing spot for a veteran pass rusher who can play a rotational role, whether that's Haason Reddick, Joey Bosa or Leonard Floyd. Barnett and Autry are also still unsigned. Obvi re-signing Barnett would hopefully alleviate a lot of that. But just keeping my head on a swivel.... - Elijah Ponder (NEP) my fav, but there is literally no way Pats let him go (unless he was sleeping with Russini as well) - Ethan Burke (UDFA BAL) former Longhorn - Will McDonald IV (NYJ) only if he can be had for cheap (like a round swap) - Andre Carter II (WSH) Mo CIty! - Josh Weru (PHI - IPP) Eagles can stash him in IPP program
Chance to add to DB room as both Kenny Moore (IND) and Zah Frazier (CHI) were released. Moore is proven vet, but won’t likely play ST as the 3rd CB. Frazier offers versatility and upside, but seems to have had issues in the Windy City.
