When the Lakers saw him on the court trying to guard someone they could not wait to rip him to pieces. But he is who he is. If they had another player who could hit a wide open jump shot it would not hurt as much to play him, But if they have to rely on him for shooting they have to play him. They need a better supporting cast.
this guy sucks and seriously looks like a little boy on the court it genuinely looks like when somebody lets their 12 y/o little brother come hoop with them against much older guys…he’s the smallest on the court and can’t guard anybody…on offense, he can’t handle any physicality, but he has a nice jumper for a kid, so he can occasionally hit some spot up shots…that’s Reed Sheppard in a nutshell
You got to remember this is his first year getting “consistent” minutes and playing in the playoffs. It’s funny how some of you guys were willing to give Jalen 5 years but no one else.
Yeah, I think Reed will best serve our team being 6th man...without a true point guard, this team will struggle next year as well. Let's hope FVV returns to form next season
Reed's basically a rookie after being red-shirted. He needs to put on 10lbs of muscle, which he can do. That being said, he and Sengun already have tickets to Milwaukee. I wish them both the best of luck.
I'm telling you the houston media is the real reason jg got traded. Was so negative, these guys get way too impatient with him. He hasn't even peaked yet.
Well Jalen had potential because he's not undersized and had elite athleticism/quickness. Reed is small, slow and has a inconsistent jumper.
Reed? Nah, he has to be much better, there is no reason he can't stay in front and draw charges - he just doesn't do it and tries to cheap out by going sideways and stripping the ball he needs to get a lot better at playing classic stay in front of your man D. And he backs away from defense on dribbles when he should be attacking the players that are trying to guard him tight, get into them and draw fouls....he doesn't do that either. He is 21, and only his 2nd year, and he does have a great jumpshot, just needs consistency, so not giving up on him yet. DD
yet you couldn’t do it Lakers were so smart not to foul him right away…he was a turnover waiting to happen
I don't even think Reed was supposed to have that play too, according to Ime he told Amen to go get the ball. I'm guessing Reed just ran out to back court because he saw trouble with the inbounds...just didn't make the best decision. I don't really think you give up on young players until they show a sign they have regressed or stagnated, otherwise, you have no idea what you're giving up on. Unless you know you're getting something great back, its better to see out his development. I'm sure the Clippers and Wizards are wishing right now they didn't give up on the guys they drafted.
This is a failure in coaching than anything Reed has done. Ime does not set him up for success. No open catch and shoot 3s. Isolating him against LeBron to end the game. As opposed to JJ Redick. As soon as Reed hit a 3 in the fourth, he calls a timeout - ultimate sign of respect that he didn’t want Reed to get hot.
Can we dispense with the myth that our front office is good at drafting? not ready to give up on Reed but he clearly wasn’t the best pick at #3. we aren’t gonna be truly successful as long as Ime is coaching this team, and a lawyer is running this organization.
Wait a minute last week people on here was saying he is a FRANCHISE PLAYER... And why don't they play him more.... I told everyone he is JUST A SHOOTER that is it..
