These topics are a waste of time until the offseason. Whether you like it or not, Jeff Van Gundy will coach out the entire season. It doesn't make any sense to keep posting these now.

This team is a reflection of its coach...no fire, enthusiasm, passion or drive.

It's not good enough to just not want to lose. I'm sure everyone wants to win. They may actually try having a good time while they're at it.

Can anybody come up with a good list of possible JVG replacements. Obviously, Phil Jackson will top the list but who else is out there? George Karl was mentioned but he hasn't been very successful recently. Are there any up and comers that are hot commodities right now?

JVG made all of our starters out of sync. He should take the blame and adjust his system.

"Change" "the" "system?" Jeff Van Gundy doesn't understand the concept.

CD did not hire Jeff Van Gundy.
CD does not lose money when there are empty seats in Toyota Center.
CD does not have to face the competition for sports $$$ of the Texans and Astros.

If the team keeps playing poorly, and attendance continues to sag, Les Alexander WILL make a move, probably sooner rather than later.

hey he did coach yao at the games in Athens. maybe he would be good for our team.

Is there like a petion we can make to fire Van Gundy? I would sign personally...and Im sure Im not alone.

By the way jondoe654 I resent we calling us bandwagon fans.

We love our Rockets and I see them going down the toilet with a short, bald-headed, no offesive, moody, jerk pushing the silver handle down.

he has taken all fun out of Houston basketball.

    I say....Forget you...and fire Van Gundy

    My two cents:

The guy that should have been coaching this team is now in Detroit. JVG in my opinion was a terrible choice to follow Rudy T. Yes the team needed more discipline but how can anyone expect a guy from the Eastern Conference to coach a team to elite status in the West. I just don't see it happening.

I really believed Rudy wasn't the best suited coach for the players we had when he left the team. Unfortunately, now we have an older veteran team lead by a star center and a star shooting guard. Sounds exactly like the kind of team Rudy is ideal for. It's sad he's the coach of the Lakers now.

Hotballa, I think you are right on the money here. Of the coaches available he may be just what the doctor ordered. He already has a great rapport with Yao. He is a coach on a successful offensive team who was brought in to help with the defense and he is a hard worker who doesn't ever look like he is ready to commit suicide after a loss. Okay les the New York Experiment has been tested and measured has come up short... way short! The Rockets are worse off after firing Rudy and hiring Gollum... much worse. Time to be a man and admit your mistake and make a move!

We definitely appear to be a rudderless ship at the moment. How much of that is related to health and chemistry versus JVG's inability to adjust to his players,I don't know.If I'm Les,I have him on a short leash though. That being said,we have a large window(and he has a fat contract).......so he'll get a longer leash.

Jeff Van Gundy sucks as a coach. If we were playing football he would be one of the greatest defensive coordinators in the game. BUt my goodness our offense cannot be this bad. He preaches to the team to get the ball to Yao, but he has Yao on the bench way too damn much.

I hate it how he likes to put both Yao and TMAC on the bench at the same time. Why would we do sucha thing. Our supporting casts sucks as it is. How are we gonna get scoring out of those guys. The knicks game and the hawks game are typical examples. We were up big in both games going into the fourth and van grumpy decides to bench both our stars. We lose our lead in the first 2 minutes of the quarter. We gotta leave at least 1 star on the court at the same time.

Another reason is our offense seems really stagnant. Sometimes it seems like they isolate Yao out of the offense. Jim Jackson decides he can shoot whenever he feels like it. I think he gets way too much playing time for a guy who jacks up 11 threes a game and doesn't make nearly enough.

Also our team does not know when to pass. Lue is the worst post passer ever. People blame Yao for being soft and getting the ball stolen, but a lot of times when he does have position the rockets just pass around the perimeter to the other side. The other times, they wait for the double team to arrive before they even get yao the ball. Of course he is gonna get it stolen. Don't get me wrong, sometimes Yao is at fault for being stripped, but yesterday, I was at the nuggests game. I could not believe how many times they would wait til andre miller was almost at yao before they dumped it in. How stupid is that. Yao doesn't even have time to react before the ball is stolen.

I think the Rockets will be ok though because Bob Sura last night seem to bring the type of intensity we needed. A shame they subbed him out late in the game and Lue got lit up instantly. I know he just recovered and he doesn't have the endurance, but Lue just wasn't cutting it. We should have played anyone else. Maybe try puttiny nachbar in and letting TMAC run pt for a few minutes while Sura is resting. At least Miller couldn't post up TMAC.

Well, it only took 10 games before JVG quit on his Knicks that season. Isn't he pushing it with 16? :D

I have to say, JVG need to re-think about the yao.
Yao is not shaq, he is slower, no jump, but he do have something make him a first pick and can scored over 40 and 20reb vs big ben.

The question is how to use him, I still miss Rudy, I think he is the best one to coach yao. JVG want to too much from yao and yao not that good. this is the problem.

These days, yao put too much pressure on himself, his heart lost ballence. In this way you can not play good. think about the days when Mr. mean coached yao.

JVG have to figure out how to use his players, we can see, no player under his coach are better then they are before. I still have to say If ginobili is in rox, he will be another boki. that's the difference between JVG and Spurs coach.

JVG YOU NEED CHANGE, FROM YOURSELF.

There is no point waiting, when you can see the results right now.

It's like waiting for a b**** to become sweet and fun. You want to poison some unborn kids?
