Neither the Rockets or Lakers can afford to pay Reeves. We won’t be in play for him.

I totally respect Austin Reaves' development during his NBA career. His arc has been remarkable. Offensively, he checks about every box.

But, for some reason, my gut is telling me whichever team pays him franchise money this summer will regret it. This is just a personal hunch. There is no logical reason to think he won't continue shooting a bunch of FTs while being efficient from the field.

I do think being on the Lakers is a great advantage for him. He will not get the same calls unless he is sent to another of the NBA’s golden children. He is definitely a Robin and not a Batman, so overpaying him is fraught with danger with the current CBA.

I think he'll get Sengun range money.

I don't think the Rockets are going to be interested but they could if they wanted to - a S&T with FVV & DFS makes the money work.

Not saying it's at all probable, just possible.

It would cost us at least one of our premium draft picks, but I guess it’s possible.

Do we even still have “premium” draft picks anymore? Lol. Both Suns and Dallas are projected to be pretty good in a few years. I always hated that damn trade of nets picks.

Suns are having a great year from several guys. They don’t have much ability to improve other than internal development of 30 year olds while it being tough to keep their productive players as they have too many big contacts already. 2027 may not be as good a pick as expected, but the 2029 one looks great.

Also with the flatter curve coming you don’t need teams to be horrible to win the lottery. No one knows the new formula yet, but almost certainly the odds for mediocre teams will improve. And those are the types of picks we have.

I'm not so sure we have any "premium draft picks" anymore.

PHX is much better than we expected.

Dallas in 29 lost it's luster once they got Cooper - They are in play in range and likely to get better.

Unless the new lottery rules are very favorable, those picks look middle of the draft ....

Hell, the lottery is probably rigged anyhow.

The Suns got lucky with Jalen Green missing 48 games, I don't think they'll get that lucky again.

I've never been a fan of Ime's automatic shortening of the rotation come playoff time, but for once, it may actually benefit us. The fewer minutes Tari gets, the better.

Unless he's IN the rotation. Which he will be...

He'll be in the rotation for sure. But Ime's probably gonna up the starters' minutes and reduce the amount of time the reserves play.

I sincerely hope he doesn't reinsert Tari into the starting lineup in the playoffs. I'm sure he's dying to, but he knows he cannot do it with how badly Tari is playing.

To have any chance at all in the playoffs, we need Tari to playing and hitting his threes. If he is not hitting his 3’s, we have no chance anyway. Playing Reed, Durant, and Jabari monster minutes is going to take their legs away. It will affect Reed the most. We have seen him start to miss open threes frequently when overplayed. Ime’s rotations throughout the season are going to bite us back hard in the playoffs. You can look forward to a lot of Holiday in the playoffs if Tari has to sit the bench. They need shooters on the court. Without Tari, journeyman like Tate and Holiday are next up. Josh should be getting a lot more run the next few games to get him prepared, but for some reason, our brilliant coach is spamming us with Tate.

I don't disagree that Tari playing well is critical to the Rockets making a deep postseason run. But he's been a scrub for nearly 2 months now. If he's putting up performances like last night, Ime is gonna have no choice but to either play Tate or Okogie or just keep the starters out there longer.

Yep, not disagreeing. I for the world can’t understand why Okogie has been benched for Tate. He is a better defensive player and has been a better 3 pt shooter this year. He hustled just as hard. It makes no sense, but a lot of what Ime does, is moronic.

I wouldn’t pay Tari more than 15 mill a year.
