The team played differently tonight without Sengun - more space, more ball movement.

I still contend that Sengun and KD don't fit.....and we are better with EITHER one...and we BARELY ****ING beat New Orleans....so let's not get over our skiis folks.

I mean if they don't step out of bounds, this game is a loss at home, to a last place Pelicans team......KD is not the answer.

    Are we there yet?

6'11" trying to bounce pass it over two guys under 6'5".....wtf

    8 second count

At least 5 turnovers tonight in the 4th quarter.

FFS wake the hell up IME - you are DOING IT WRONG.....KD is 37, he is a below average passer, he is EASILY contained by a double at the top of the key.

We have seen this **** SHOW all year......this team is done....no one will help until Ime is fired......and......PSSST....this is the best KD we will ever get he will get worse over the next 2 years.

And people thought this was nutz.....the TRUTH always comes out, eventually.

Ime is not putting these guys in favorable positions. The offense is ass.

These young whipper snappers don't know squat, they can't see the forest through the trees - this blitz KD nonsense has cost this team at least 10 games our record in close games is 18-19.....we have lost to ever single low rent team in the West.

KD at the top of the key with the ball late, is a LOSING strategy.

And...AND think about this......HE is the BEST he will ever be as a Rocket right now, he will ONLY get worse.

    UGH.

It’s the coach’s fault. They haven’t made any adjustments since October. That’s the coach and front office.

He's made up his mind about KD and he puts his heels in the ground. He's a know I t all. Thinks he's God's gift to basketball knowledge when all evidence shows he's simply always wrong. He's known for that here.

The problem isn't KD. It's Ime

I agree that Ime is the biggest problem, but KD is not the solution the Rockets’ needed. It was a premature trade based on the fool’s gold second seed. I think a better coach would utilize Durant better, but we would still not be in the same tier of the top teams in the West. Durant is virtually untradeable at this point, so it’s lose Ime or lose another year to this monstrosity of an offense.

We had to do something. We had no scoring down the stretch and KD still can do that. I didn't mind the trade. We need to lose Ime. He's set in his ways and lacks the ability to adjust in game. We will never win with him as our coach

He is 50%, KD is the other, KD wants the ball late, and Ime is too much of a wussy to tell Durant the truth, that he isn't that guy anymore.

I would love for IME to be fired, but I also know that KD is in decline and this will only get worse.

I don't even know how to describe how bad of an idea it is to run KD as the point guard. KD is our primary scoring threat, but he is not a great ballhandler or passer, and what quickness and athleticism he once had is greatly diminished. His offensive gravity functions best off the ball, because you cannot leave him and have to gameplan everything around keeping him from getting the ball in his spots. When you put him on the ball to initiate the halfcourt set instead, it takes that away and makes the choice simple for the opposing team: Double, trap, don't let him get to his spots.

Amen and Reed are still far from from greatness as primary ballhandlers, but they are capable enough at initiating the offense to be better than what we just saw. Having them on the ball instead complicates things for the opposing team, because they have to keep track of a lot more possibilities.

Ultimately, I'm not sure how much to blame Durant for this issue, although I expect his ego does play a role in it. In the end, the buck stops at Ime Udoka. Either he thinks this is a good way to run the offense when Sengun is off the court, or he is unable to be a leader who can get his team on the page of doing things a better way. Either way, the root of the issue isn't KD's fit on the team in a basketball sense, the issue is that we're utilizing him improperly. Blame him for wanting to do things that way if you want, and I do think he's a narcissistic a-hole.

In the end, though, with better coaching, this wouldn't be a problem.

Coach should put their players in the best position to succeed, so KD would be used better off ball, and the intention of any play should be KD receiving the ball after the defense has scrambled or move some so that he's caught 1 on 1 against someone.

Instead he faces all 10 eyes of the defense and has to read it, which we know he struggles to do. He's 37, he's not going to get better at doing this. How often did we see KD do this in GSW? That was Curry and Green's job to get him the ball.

The only thing I can think of if I'm being charitable to Ime is that he thought this was a good learning opportunity for the team. He does come from Pop and Pop would sacrifice regular season games to teach his team a lesson. So MAYBE Ime thought...look, we're not getting an easy series, it's either, Denver, LAL, or Minny, and they are likely going to do this so in a high pressure game this is the best chance to learn how we attack these double teams.

Problem is...it's easy lol. The solution is easy. KD pass the ball. You get past half court, you see two guys even approach, pass. the. ball. If you can get it to Amen he can drive and likely has a lane, Reed or Bari might have a shot, either way the defense is scrambling back. KD waits forever to make his decision. It is clear that this is just his flaw, this is his thing, every great player has a weakness, this is his, he's not going to get over it or likely learn how to do it, he might get away with it paly or two, or even be on point for a game, but KD thinks he can score every time.

Coach has to put him the best position, it's on coach. Its like with dwight, he can't post up, he wants to post up, but he can't do it. It was on the coach then to tell him look, this isn't what is best for the team and move on.

ouston’s cowardly media needs to ask Ime directly, “why does Durant continue to initiate the offense in the 4th quarter when it has failed all year”. Let him embarrass himself and Tito by association. The fans are the only ones that can get this guy fired.

Going to be hard to beat Lakers without Sengun. Thats 15 points at least and 8-10 rebs they missed.
