Durant and Jabari can move the ball, sure, but they’re not natural floor generals. Reed Sheppard is still too raw to run an NBA offense. Bottom line: without Amen at point, Houston’s guard rotation looks thin, and a trade for a legit playmaker feels inevitable if they want to stay competitive.”
who is OP quoting? “If we’re not gonna run Amen Thompson as the primary PG, then the Rockets absolutely need to trade for another guard, and Sengun can’t carry the full playmaking load from the center spot. English aside, the real issue is no PG, right? End of season: Sengun for a PG + center, isn’t that the move?
I still hope to trade into the top 10 this draft. There's about 5 guards I would love to pair with Reed.
I know a guy that ran heavy ISO and lead the league in assists. He's also one of the best playmakers ever. Oh also I heard he wanted to play for the Rockets but they passed
This is such a fascinating thread.... But really, trading for a PG (when trades open again) is now low priority, since we have one incoming for next season anyway... It appears they've been trying to get Amen/ Reed experience and hope they'll grow. Obviously they haven't grown enough that we are contenders this year, which sux.
Fred is a bum. Holding our breath for a “table setter” gonna leave us disappointed. Go get me a point guard who can put 20+ on the board and get to the rim Probably gonna spam Dejounte Murray all off season until Stone believes in it
