Too hone in on trying to get the ball to Durant when he was well covered.

Ended up with a broken play. This is the theme of the season during crunch time. Force feeding Durant.

They did this in the beginning of the season and it costed us games. It's brain dead behavior

Sengun is your best passer why is he not passing the ball here? Amen shouldn't be anywhere near the court. Reed should have been in for him. That gives you 4 3pt shooters and your best passer throwing the ball in. How is this so hard for ime?

So this game pretty much typified the season. Our talent was clearly superior to the Clips. We had a pretty good approach taking Kwahi out of the game. We were moving the ball in the first half. But….

we stopped moving the ball in the 2nd half. No one can take care of the ball and no one could get the ball to KD in space. We stopped doubling Kwahi in the 4th and shockingly he started scoring. Of course the cherry on top was Ime keep our best 3pt shooter out of the game down 3 in favor of multiple non-shooters.

just not a team that is gonna win in the playoffs. Huge skill-set gaps. A team tjat doesn’t fit. The coaching is not adjusting. It’s malpractice not to have picked up someone who can handle the ball at the deadline. Just look what Alvarado is doing for the Knicks and they paid nothing.

I really don’t like our GM; can’t stand to listen to him talk. Hate the obviously enormous ego radiating from both GM and coach. My faith in Ime has suffered dramatically this season. If I hear another person point to skewed stats or a skewed regular season record to justify the current state of the team, or another person mentioning Fred, as if he’s the only player in the world that can shoot and handle the ball, I’m gonna lose my mind. We’re not very good. Just watch the games. Lots of excuses for poor team construction and poor coaching.

I usually can come up with some justification for Ime’s lineup decisions. But I have no clue why anyone would put Amen in the game down 3 with 2 seconds on the clock.

Obviously Reed should have been in, but even Holiday or Tate would have been better choices than Amen in that situation. We probably lose either way, but it’s a weird decision to not even take your best shot for the tie.

FVV is not the only player that can handle, shoot the ball, and defend. He was the only guy the Rockets had Bird Rights that could handle, shoot the ball, and defend*. Those guys aren't plentiful, and take more resources to get than a lot of this board gives credit.

*When I say defend, I'm not talking just disruption or being an annoying pest. Ability to switch and not get buried in a mismatch.

well maybe they should have had a better backup plan. Many of us were screaming for a guard this offseason. They ignored that and loaded up on old bigs instead. And now they want to blame everything on Fred’s injury. That’s ridiculous. We literally transformed our team this summer but decided not to shore up our bsckcourt despite it being our biggest problem last season and losing our starting 2-guard and only on-ball creator. It was a choice. The wrong choice clearly. But I get that no one wants to take accountability.

Kevin Durant with 8 turnovers. That's the game right there. Had he kept it down to like 3 (which still isn't great), we'd have won handily. I'm really starting to understand why his teams lose even though he puts up huge numbers.
