You can literally view the top 100 globally and bad bunny has 4 of the top 5 songs globally lol. I genuinely feel sorry for these MAGA. Theyre so utterly brainwashed that you pity them https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/top-100-global/pl.d25f5d1181894928af76c85c967f8f31
I don't ever remember people deciding which artists they liked or hated based on politics growing up. We went to all the concerts in town, because of the music, not some culture war BS. I never once heard anyone bashing artists for what party they supported. I'm glad I had a carefree life back in the 70's and 80's without all the BS that's happening now. The first time I ever remember the cultural wars over artists was when the country world started bashing the Dixie Chicks during Bush's term. Since Trump, it's gone crazy! The guy spews so much hate and bashing against musicians, actors, athletes, Olympians and anyone who dares to speak out, or differs in his opinion. He's such a drama queen. For Trump, If they love him he praises them, and if they don't he hates them. What a scumbag human being for a President. The sad part is that he has followers hating people based on who Trump hates.
Sure technically they're Americans. But they're a different group of people ethnically. Thats like if USA took over Argentina, or better yet like Hawaii, most native Hawaiians don't consider themselves Americans like someone from Texas or Florida does. They actually feel like they're under occupation rather than being part of the U.S. I mean its more laughable that some y'all don't get it right away n just try to be condescending (I'm starting to doubt that its even on purpose/deliberately).
I never imagined growing up, watching Mr Rogers and Sesame Street on PBS, that I would someday be labeled woke scum for believing that, while some people are a little different than others, it's okay for them to exist and be happy. Or, for that matter, that a movement would take hold in this country that would celebrate the dismantling of PBS, of all things, along with aid to the world's most vulnerable -- all so that the rich could be a little richer. Yet here I am, living the dream.
that face man says everything you need to know. if you walked around looking like jigsaw you would be angry miserable and crazy too.
True in some aspects, but not all your points. Sure, many want to be independent and stand strong as Puerto Ricans. You also have many who just want to be given the right to vote, like other American citizens. That can make people feel more like outcasts, compared to other US citizens, and not truly embraced as Americans living in Florida, Texas, New York City, or anywhere else. You also have Puerto Ricans who give their lives for our country, and Americans in the US who have never served a day for our country, yet treat Puerto Ricans like the less than Americans. I get your point, but we have plenty of Americans who live in the states as American citizens and embrace their culture and identify as Irish, Italian, British, Jamaican, Russian, Swedish, Vietnamese, Mexican, Cuban, all other kinds of Americans.
No, not enough of them. I think they're like 20% of the population in Hawaii now, so they can't/won't get the votes.
Not a good comparison culturally and else wise. Spanish will most likely always be the first language there. Now the Puerto Ricans that move to continental US n have kids here, their kids would be considered Americans, and they can be proud of their heritage like the Irish, Italians, Africans etc. Hakeem will always be Nigerian (in every sense), his kids are most likely considered black African-Americans with Nigerian background
I think Puerto Ricans have the right to identify as whatever they want. The good folks of St Croix as well. The Crucians definitely have American pride in recent decades in my experience.
MAGA: Super Bowl performer, Olympics skiers must unify the country. MAGA: it’s okay the president posts racist memes and rants all day. sounds about maga.
