I don't know - but that isn't what he posted. He posted a picture of Obama and his wife as apes. He also has a history of claiming that the President was born in Africa. So, context does matter. I will just say that it is very disappointing that the President of the United States decided to post what he posted.

If you empty out all historical context, the ape figure is still demeaning. About 150-180 years ago or so that ape image was used against Irish immigrants too.
