Dinwiddle can’t shoot. Maybe if we are looking for an replacement we should at least get a guard who can shoot?

I'm looking towards next year, so go ahead and keep JD.

No buyout guy is going to change the outcome of this year. We're most likely going to lose in the 2nd round unless the teams above us experience injuries to their key players.

Just like the Texans/Mixon, our championship aspirations went up in flames with a season ending injury before the first game.

I like Davison, I'd really like to to keep him and get rid of someone else, but this team NEEDS help. I guess it depends on who is available, but I can't see running this same group out there unchanged for the rest of the season.

I am pretty sure Stone will convert JD to a standard contract and fill the remaining two way spot with a random player.

I hope we get a big because we really need rebounding, and that is a major part of our offense, but I like JD too.

i like davison... but i think id throw the dice on bpa on buy-out market...

and really, it pains me to say it... but id prob cut uncle jeff b4 davison... just based on positional need...

or crawford or newton... not sure whos on a 2-ways and would open a roster spot...

Not Jeff please, we shouldn't cut a person with championship experience even if they don't play. Very important for locker room in playoffs. Young guys will lean on his advice.

I'd waive Tate. Tari/Bari/DFS/Okogie/Amen/Tate is excessive overlap.

It depends on who we can obtain the buyout market. My first choice is Chris Paul just because I think Ime will actually listen to him and ohe ur offense would make more sense when he's on the floor. He has only played around 200 minutes this season so I don't think that proves that he's washed. He made a positive impact last season on the Spurs and his teams have routinely overachieved over the past five years.

I'd also take Lonzo Ball of Davison. Lonzo's shooting has been bad this season but he provides defense, dribbling and passing which would all help.

    Otherwise, I'll just take Davison.

No Westbrook and I hate Dinwiddie the player.

How? We’re right against the apron and Davison would take our 15th spot.

Do they have a deadline to waive him by? I'd like to wait and see if a Mike Conley type becomes available first. I wouldn't want to get rid of JD arbitrarily. I think he's decent enough to play in a crunch, but I would rather have someone I know can be relied on to handle the ball against tight defenses and get us into our offensive sets more efficiently instead of relying on Sengun bringing the ball up, and wasting half the shot clock.

I can get behind this. Tate isn't bringing anything to this roster that we don't already have, and he doesn't look the same since his injury. I do like Davison for what he is, so I wouldn't mind keeping him on and developing him further. With that said he's almost certainly capped out at "backup point guard" so people shouldn't stress over it too much. In terms of the playoffs, he's functionally a rookie. So a veteran would be really good to have onboard even if they don't have much left in the tank.

    Teams don’t waive good players.

They don’t need to sign anyone. It’s just not our year.

I think they have punted on the next ~6 seasons. (IYKWIM)

Davison has 6 games left, according to spotrac before he can only be in G League.

I think it might be possible to stash Davison in G League and wait until two prorated minimums fit under the cap would work. That would be much later in the season, after the good buyout conditions are signed, but it would likely be technically possible, even if not feasible to have Davison and buyout candidate wait. .

I love Uncle Jeff... but if we can turn his slot into somebody that can give us some solid minutes... Theoretically, we can hire a multitude of guys with championship experience to help train our guys... make em asst coaches and it doesnt affect roster slots or salary cap... but those actual roster spots should provide real on court help.... Tate has provided some solid minutes.... but i havent seen Jeff on the floor outside of a blowout...
