Holyshit I can't underscore how much of a non-factor this guy is

please just stop giving him anymore minutes

he's not even close on his 3s, the national tv announcers don't even give him grace

At this point we throw a party when he makes a layup (the prior game)

Stone may need to press charges on DFS for theft. He is just stealing money from the organization so far. Coach keeps playing him like he going to change and he hasn’t.

If you willingly give the guy money, it's not theft.

It's a pleasant surprise when he scores more than 1 point in a game

I get the whole stand pat thing at the deadline. Obviously, not a sexy move but a decision that can also age well.

But not trying to attach a couple SRP’s and flip him for something useful is still baffling to me.

Especially if word ever leaks that the asking price for Bobby Portis, for example, wasn’t that high and something like that could have gotten the deal done.

We went from thinking we were getting a Dillon replacement to actually getting 2019 Luc Mbah A Moute.

2018 Luc had one of the most consistent highest impacts of any player like ever. iirc he was like +50 in numerous games

that guy was a ****ing beast

Yup. But then post-injury he couldn’t move or shoot anymore.

    Sound familiar? :(

True, that’s why he specifically mentioned 2019, post-injury Luc, that couldn’t put in a simple layup.. :(

I guess that if Stone made a trade of dfs + draft capital, it was like admitting of the mistake he made - instead of making a normal signing of a DB replacement in the summer, he also needed to spend draft capital - hence, by keeping DFS he can lie to himself that we just have “injury bad luck” without taking credit of how bad was dfs signing.

If i could remember ... Steven Adams also took a very long time to recover to his good old self form for which we felt we made a good decision. hoping for the same story with DFS , of course with shorter time frame (back to his good self in post season)

Adams at least showed flashes of good play. DFS has shown absolutely nothing. No reason for optimism. Not even for like a 5 minute stretch in 1 of the 20 games he has played. I wish someone would interview him so he could at least acknowledge his poor play and that he needs to play better but he just gets to show up , do nothing on the court and then quietly go home.

DFS when healthy is more a luxury because the other players are too young and not consistent enough, esp. in the Playoffs.

So Dorian, just do your thing.

At this point he only provides defensive versatility as he can guard bigger bodies and the perimeter, lost half a step due to injuries and not playing much.

His shooting is meh, I would not count on it barring some hot streak as he did as a Laker.

Just for the record, they were already hard capped prior to the signing of DFS.

The sign and trade of Capela was the trigger.

Yeah, the Capela trade was more baffling than the DFS signing. I could understand we needed a Brooks replacement, and DFS on paper was the perfect guy for that job. (I didn't know at that time the extent of his injury. Stone should know and it's on him.)

Capela on the other hand was not needed. Even after Adams went down, his minutes didn't go up. That shows you that Udoka does not trust Capela and he does not need another non-shooting big man out there. Jabari Smith is fine to be the small ball center most of the time.

We should have use that roster spot and salary space to get guard depth.
