Castle is obviously far more talented than Reed Sheppard with a lot more potential, but he’s 1 of those “decent jumper away from being a star” type of player

there’s nothing Reed can do to become a star…best you can hope for is consistent role player contributor

 

When it is all said and done you will find out we did indeed draft the best player in that entire draft. Reed is going through the growing pains this season that our absolutely idiotic coach should have let him go through last year.

Harper better than Amen
Castle better than Reed

The only thing that can save Rox is Wemby's health as a 7'6 guy moving like that wont have a long and healthy career in the NBA.

Stone was just following the script given to him weeks before the draft. Reed was always going to be the pick. No matter how dumb it was. I like Reed but face it, he is not Stephon Castle good. Winning games like that in his second season should be enough for even the greatest of Sheppard nut huggers to regret the pick.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There was enough overlap between Castle, Amen, and Tari that a) they already had 2 better versions of that player type and b) they would have only considered Castle if Reed wasn’t there. Having said all that, Castle is in a much better situation for individual success than Reed is. And Reed would be killing it on the Spurs. And I might go so far as to say Reed at his best is as good if not better than Castle at his best.

 

It's funny how Spurs fans come out of the woodwork to take a victory lap every time Castle has a decent game.

He still has a -1 net rating on the season, he's still a 29% 3 point shooter.

Just say you have a fetish for low skill hyper athletic scrubs that put together good games a few times a season and move on.
