Knicks got guard depth using a dude they acquired yesterday and no picks. Eat your heart out Stone!

Damn. I'd give up 2 seconds for GTA in a heart beat. This team could use a vet point guard in the worst way.

I think we can see that this team is not actually serious about winning a championship. Very content with collecting playoff money.

Smart pickup by the Knicks. They saw a need for a better backup point guard and went and got one for peanuts. Meanwhile, our front office staff seem to have fallen asleep at their desks.

He'll be a very good fit on the Knicks. Pels did him a solid.
(Then again, the Pels do anyone a solid by trading them).

Alvarado was really good in his Knicks debut. 12 points, 2 assists, and 3 stocks in 25 minutes. Played fantastic defense against Boston's strong backcourt. He would have looked really good in a Rockets uniform for the price they got him for, and fit in perfectly with our team philosophy.

    Stone blew it.

Let's wait and see what he does consistently going forward. In Alvarado's first game, he was a complete nothing burger. Tonight he was crazy on fire shooting the ball, which will almost certainly not continue.

As I mentioned earlier he was actually very good in his first game even though he wasn't on fire from three point range (1 for 3 in that one). Still scored 12 points and played fantastic defense.

Alvarado really isn't that dissimilar from a young FVV. He's not quite the same level as a floor general, but he's much better in that department than Aaron Holiday at least, and he is a similar level of jump shooter and defensive player to a young Fred. It's crazy to me that Stone wouldn't throw out a couple second rounders or something. Alvarado's contract even expires in the offseason so a healthy FVV could step right back in, or alternatively, Alvarado could have been re-signed on an MLE deal and Fred traded for an upgrade elsewhere.
