Wasn’t allowed to eat sugar cereals growing up. But was allowed to put heaping spoonfuls of sugar on cereal, which made little sense looking back.

    We had:
    Grape Nuts
    Cheerios
    Life
    Raisin Bran

On the occasions where I got to have sugar cereal:
    Cap’n Crunch Crunchberries
    Apple Jacks
    Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch
    Golden Grahams

Grape Nuts are perfect to mix in with another cereal so your spoonfuls stay crunchy longer.

OP, you really messed up! This thread is making me want to go buy some Cap'n Crunch.

I'd probably eat the entire box in two days.

My wife makes this addicting cereal-based crack she calls Puppy Chow:

    Chex Mix
    Chocolate
    Peanut butter
    Powdered sugar

Mix it up, let it sit in the fridge. Take it out, eat all of it.

My 2 fav`s were fruity pebbles and Cap N Crunch with crunch berries.................but the roof of your mouth took a beating. I didn't really like cereal until high school when we learned a thing or two about a left-handed cig

    Growing up it was:
    1. Cap'n Crunch with Crunch Berries
    2. Peanut Butter Crunch.
    3. Fruity Pebbles
    4. Coco Pebbles
    5. Lucky Charms

As a dad, I raised by kids on Kix, Raisin Bran, Nut and Honey Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios and Frosted Mini Wheat.

Then I noticed that Raisin Bran actually has way more sugar (18g) than Cap'n Crunch (12)g. It's literally one of the most sugar-filled cereals you can buy.

Now that my kids are 18 and 20, I feel like I robbed them of a great childhood memory, and they're not big on cereal.

Doesn't Raisin Bran cover the raisins with sugar? Haven't had it in years

Edit: Regardless raisins have a lot sugar

Crazy how little my folks knew how unhealthy the cereals we bought were, no wonder I was always sleepy in class as a kid. Our house had a regular rotation of:

    Frosted Flakes
    Cinnamon Toast Crunch
    Honey Nut Cheerios
    Golden Grahams
    Froot Loops

Then I got a little bit older and switched to Honey Bunches of Oats because I thought THAT was healthy lol.

Now as a mid-life guy as far as cold cereal it's basically just plain Cheerios, plain shredded wheat, and some versions of Chex that I wouldn't say are healthy, just not particularly harmful.

Chex and Shredded Wheat both are loaded with carbs about as much as Honey Bunches of Oats which doesn't have much sugar at all , 9 grams a serving.

Cheerios has the least carbs in your list by a good amount but I would suspect most cereals are carb loaded as they are all processed foods.

Take it from a diabetic, I have type 1, the hereditary version, the problem with our food is carbs

I've only been allowed to eat regular fake cheerios or corn flakes as a kid...so I guess fake cheerios

CHEX is underrated IMO, if you can take a cereal and turn it into a warm snack that you can mix with M&M`s then it's a win-win
