I'm looking to purchase a smaller smart TV and would appreciate some recommendations from folks who have had their TV a few months. I'm hearing problems with motherboards going out on some of the brands I previously liked, like Samsung. I just don't know which brand to trust anymore, since LG and Samsung are all I've owned the past few years. I know nothing about some of the brands like Vizio, TCL, and such. I am not a gamer. I use it for movies, streaming, and sports. I'm also looking for recommendations for a decent, but inexpensive sound bar. I'd appreciate any input.

I have TCL’s in my house after seeing @Dave2000 talk about them. Super happy and have never looked back. You can always find great deals on them.
I was actually just looking at a Hisense 58" Class 4K UHD LED LCD Roku Smart TV HDR R6 Series that was only $238. I'm only gonna to need the tv a couple years, so I just want something with a decent picture and sound before I move. I don't plan on taking it with me.
dam it, I saw that brand the last time I bought a Sony and had never heard of it.....................I tend to think of the "name brand" items when searching for high ticket items, but that mentality doesn't work these days, my BIL bought a 65 inch at Target for like $600 bucks (some weird brand) and it beats the Sony I bought 5 years ago
