Pretty damning that Jabari was once considered the best overall pick and now a 3rd pick overall...... God darn it, scouts!
I get everyone's frustrations but blaming Stone will do nothing. I'm not exactly sure what he did so wrong. You guys are blaming the coach, but I don't know what coach could get KD to stay like Ime was able to help lure him here. He's not the greatest coach but he can only do so much from the sideline. He's definitely better than Doc Rivers. We are good basketball team just not a great team. Guys have to step up and get better. There isn't some magic trade that will fix things. Getting KD was a lateral move we're not that much better than last season. That's a good thing, at least we are not worse. All we can hope for is to make the playoffs and KD does his thing in the close games. Green wasn't going to get it done.
He is a beta cuck. He has always seen himself as a failure, "dont judge me until 2030" admitting he didn't really have confidence in himself turning things around so he gets two resets in 10 years. This is why he cant make decent trades, he was lucky w the BKN deal and messes it up, he was lucky Oladipo didnt want the money he offered which was a huge overpay any ways, now hes too scared to make in season trades for 6 years. He chose a bust in Jalen who was the highest draft pick since Yao, he has quietly destroyed this franchise. Anything good he does, he finds a way to mess up, so it makes me feel he has been relatively lucky (high draft picks from lotto balls none of which are stars, getting Dillon and then trading him)
Dilussional GM indeed, instead of helping his rookies improve their game, he instead plays and treats role players as stars so he could "say" he converted/traded them for firsts. What was he saying back then? "I want to do them right"? "Bring them to good teams"? then goes to waste those firsts for duds or won't even bother to develop those picked rookies. Damn what a wasted tanking seasons, all just to tank another season coz FVV is injured? While KD's playing 40+ mins? FTS
You guys really took Silas seriously? He was literally hired to tank, and he executed perfectly. He was an assistant that was given a head position to try and make a name for himself as a head coach while we tanked and it didn't work, at least for him. We got the picks we needed. Dude literally went back to being an assistant. If Stone was to pay top dollar for a coach on a tanking team you guys would complain about that too.
Stone could've just enlisted himself as the Head Coach / TANK Commande. Destroyed a person instead. Cruel.
We don't know if they tried to get some things done because you can only only judge on completed trades. Also this was the problem Houston is hard-capped at the first apron and only has a little more than $1.2 million in space. That means we would have had to trade dollar for dollar basically just to get someone decent.
We played the "BIG" line up when Adams played, it worked with him because he is a decent passer as well. Can't keep playing it without him. Capela isn't as good of a passer or rebounder. He battles though.
That is what we were talking about, we need a GM that sees the field 2 steps ahead of everyone. Not a guy that limps behind or is like the average guy. You can get a young upcoming assistant GM dude everywhere now.
he got Sengun trade right...................Eason Got us back into the Playoffs through great deals and the right base to build off. This is quite funny...................... "lack of maturity".......................................were you expecting 21-22 year olds to already be 27-28?..........................of course there will be a lack of maturity in young players.
This is on Stone! This is some of the dumbest sh*t I've heard in a long time. Why even go for Durant if we're not going to compete? You should have seen enough by now what players are worth keeping. If Sengun is literally a liability then ship him out, Same goes for anyone on our team. They are all assets once you get a player of Durants Caliber.
Nope, he had to stop the hard cap from happening and not have extended Fred.....hard facts. Thank Fred for his culture setting and set him on his way to a genuine Veteran team. U were already tanking, why not tank thru the Drafts 2025 and 2026...those are legitimate drafts.
It goes both ways. He didn't have to take the job. If he was great coach then he would still be a head coach. It benefited both parties as a low-risk if it didn't work out, high reward if it did. He got head coaching experience out of it.
If the plan for getting KD was with assumption that everyone would be healthy that was idiotic. Especially when you got players like Tari, Adams and 37 year old KD himself. But I think what broke all this was giving FVV the no trade clause. Can't see him getting more money from anyone else, so I doubt that was necessary. Being hard-capped and unable to include FVV in deals is how you get to having no options.
Rebuilding is not tanking, and we have had good records 2 years in a row. The draft is not always perfect. If we didn't have injuries, we would be fine, but you don't have a crystal ball to look into the future.
