I think KD is a great player, and not a enormous "issue", per-se, but your point about leadership on the court is absolutely correct. Jalen, Alpi, Bari, Amen...they can all be super passionate but they all fed off of DB and FVV's energy last season and Durant is not an energy guy. He's a smooth, cool, effortless and historic scorer that can get you points at ANY time. He'd push us over the top, but that was predicated on us having the right pieces to begin with, and clearly we don't
That's not my steak. But to answer your question, I watched the game tonight so I'll have to think on it. No sane person would watch all 4 Qs
I missed this earlier but lol, Stonetitta know we are cooked and in fact knew it by the time FVV got hurt. Good job signing Durant to an extension through age 39 though
The handling / "development" of the Green and Sengun rookie years under Stone was horrendous and should have been a sign on how Stone's GM skills is trully incompetent.
After those statements, Stone should have been fired! Bad injury luck? We have two players over 30 injured; all teams deal with injuries, it's part of the game. Your job is to build a team that can overcome these adversities! It's the sport, IDIOT
We need to stop hiring accountants to run the franchise and hire actual basketball people that know how to judge talent.
Don't forget he let the best big man in the league Jock Landale leave. Bloke is putting up 26 and 11 while Sengun scores 3 or whatever he scored.
Man I wish I had kept some of the receipts of the folks who were saying Stone has passed Morey in the offseason snd were downright indignant about calls for calm...
It’s actually insane to me that in 2026 they seriously believed FVV and Steven ****ing Adams where the keys to a championship lmao.
Injuries are half of the equation. The other half is just none of our young players have progressed. Alpi’s gone backwards, which is crazy after his performance in the Euros. Jabari’s same ole, same ole. No consistency. Amen has had a better full season than last year, but only based on where he started last season. I don’t think he’s shown much improvement from where he was at the end of last year, Reed has definitely had games where he’s shown huge improvement. Then about half the games he’s been just as bad as last year, but with more playing time. Tari’sj just had too many injuries. Those first three though of Alpi, Jabari, and Amen. I expected at least 2 of them to take that next step this season, but not one of them has stepped up. Pretty devastating if you’re a Rockets fan with hopes for the future.
Why not trying and get rid of negative assets such as Adams and dfs + draft capital in return of type of player we need right now? Even if it doesn’t work smoothly mud-season than in early-season, it is still better than the alternative of staying with this limited roster around kd. No risk, no reward. This is basically Ime ans Stone philosophy, and where did it get us so far? Losing 1st round with hca to a weak version of the Warriors. Here’s a prediction - we end up 7 (with Suns in top 6), and we’ll lose Warriors in the play-in. We will win the 9/10 winner and enter the playoffs from 8, but after 2 exhausting play-in games we’ll get swept by okc. Putting our hopes only on post-season is a mistake, you need to live the game. We all thought that Stone did a decent job during the summer, with the exception of not signing another ball handler. And after fvv injury - he wasn’t able to do anything. So we waited to Dec15 - and he did nothing. And we waited to the deadline - and again, nothing. Even if we bring the Freak in the sumner, I’m positive Stone will leave a thin roster around them and we’ll be the same joke next season.
He basically lucked out because a 37 year old Durant wanted to go Texas with no Income Tax....... Yes, Amen and Sengün were enticing to play with for sure.
