    both

I don’t care much for lazy post up bigs that can’t shoot and are liabilities on defense…that’s not changing regardless of who is scheming the offense

some other team can waste their time trying to build around him

and who do you want to keep and build around
Sengun is not the one to build around. If that’s your expectation then trade him away. He is not even on a max contract . Rockets had a lot of top picks but couldn’t find a max player and couldn’t develop the ones they got properly.

Sengun hasn't looked like himself for a while now, very mixed bag last month or so. I'm hoping the all-star break refreshes him. We'll see.

Ime took the bus, ran over Sengun, backed up over the body, put it in drive, then ran over him again

He's not wrong. He is frequently hunted. In a team full of defenders as good as ours are, and being the center, of course he gets hunted. Right now, he is middle of the pack in defensive rating at 110.9, and that's with his mixed play as of late. Last year he was much better, this season his defense has been trending down the longer it goes. He will never be an elite defender.

    Time will tell.

The only center in the nba that needs a rim protector...

This team cannot run both Sengun and Durant defensively. Throw in Reed and its game over. Not sure what the solution is at this point. His shooting is what's needed to improve to make him viable and it just hasnt.

He's still league average in defensive rating. Not good, but definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. However, he has looked awful the last month or so defensively, so I understand the sentiment.

Sengun's good enough to play janitor to a strong perimeter. Last year we had it. This year not so much, it's coming down to his individual effort/talent and it's as it's always been. He just doesn't have that strong perimeter defense to protect him, nor Jalen to blame when **** hits the fan.

If it's like that then why have him in that situation and if you don't like that he's like that then why didn't you trade him for Giannis. Whatever...

Think they are waiting till the offseaon and see how he does in the playoff before they make a haste decision.

People like this need excuses. They put the blame for their own incompetence on the players, or on managers, or something similar. IME Udoka is a bad coach and a sneaky person.

Well, gotta admit, that 1 great game out of seven during the playoffs was an amazing memory. Too bad Jalen could do it only once in 7 tries, if he does it twice perhaps we woulda moved on. Certainly he wasn't the reason we didn't move on to the next round .

Ime is not a good offensive coach, but honestly, he is not lying. Sengun does get hunted, as it should be. If I'm a guard and I have to bypass Sengun or any of Amen/Tari/Bari/DFS/Okogie/Clint, etc., well heck yeah, I'm choosing Sengun, even if he is middle of the pack defensively (at least until the last few weeks). However, if he gets back to last year's level of defense he can be not elite, but at least back to a good defender.

Heck, Wemby hates playing against Sengun, most of the time it's the one player that makes him play the worst offensively.
