I didnt say go sign someone I said trade. Wrap your head around that. Youre the one saying we need to sign people after buyouts. Anyway after listening to stone and YOU.I fail to see how what you guys are saying would make me wanna stay as a Rockets fan.
Did he really actually say that, or was it just interpreted like that? Is there a video we can see? I sure as heck hope he didn't actually say that because as a leader of the organization you can't be saying stuff like that. You have no clue what will happen with other teams' health in the playoffs also. It would be ridiculously dumb to say this out loud and put doubt in your team and your players. If they hear that, then they can take the foot off the pedal and say eff it, leadership already said it's not our year. Self-fulfilling prophecy. Anyway, I really hope he didn't actually say that..
First I'm hearing of it. Last I checked he's still playing the same role, getting the same numbers, and playing when he's healthy. It is besides the point, championship teams also can't just miss key players.
It seems to be said in the context of there's so many injuries that he wonders if it just is not the year. I do agree you don't want your GM to say things like that but I don't mind a GM thinking long term, it's what GMs do best and should be allowed to do. Coaches think short term and will sell the future of the team to have mediocre seasons (as we see this happen whenever coaches have GM powers) because their resume is tied to their w/l record. I don't really mind if the GM is thinking long term, as long as he has the last laugh, and GMs know a bit more than we do, meaning they players that might be availiable in the next window and so might know when to hold their cards. Not that this is what Stone is doing, who knows, but the point I'm making is GMs do punt on seasons all the time. You don't get KD to do that, fair fair fair, but it's not like they predicted they would lose FVV to start the year too. They made all their moves with the idea that FVV would be there. I don't know if FVV makes this team on par with DEN or OKC though but we'll never really know because there is a chance he returns in poor form for an older guy with a serious injury.
Well, Im glad he let me know he QUIT on the season, that way I no longer need to watch or buy tickets to go to a game. Thanks Stone
I feel like the "worst injury luck" stuff is showing how much they overvalue FVV. Boston didn't throw in the towel on the season when they lost Jayson f***ing Tatum, but we're giving up? Give me a break. I've said many times I never thought we were strong contenders, but surely a good GM and front office could find some reasonable-cost deal to at least get us a little closer without giving up too much. It didn't have to be a binary "all-in or do nothing" situation. But apparently to Stone, it is.
Did this clown actually say that? If so he should be fired immediately with that loser mentality! The team that just kicked your ass last night was without their 2 best players (Tatum & Brown). What’s your excuse for that? And way to send a message to your healthy guys that you don’t t believe in them! What a jackass!
Imagine the outrage if any other franchise in any sport were a playoff team and a top 4 seed in their conference and just gave up halfway through the season These two ****ing losers are truly remarkable. You can add cheapman in there too but im sure that dumbass has long forgotten about this team at this point
This is getting close to uncle Drayton level for me. Might have to sit this one out until someone like Jim Crane shows up.
alright. Give up then. Stop posting, as it seems you have no other interest for the rest of the season.
Not only that, there is no long-term adjustments coming. I can hear it now, “Getting FVV and Adams back is just like signing two premium FA’s”. I wish the Chronicle had the balls to put his quote as a headline on the first page. What a disgusting loser way of thinking. Not our year, halfway through in the 4th seed. Tito please fire Mutt and Jeff right now!
