What's the trade then? Who is the player and what are the Rockets giving up for them? You realize that the Rockets have to give up players to get them right? This isn't FA where we are sitting on cap space.
No, they didn't. They got back a 21 year old player that maybe they believe in, I don't know. The guy on ESPN was just saying that the Bulls are collecting assets and players that they hope to rehab and shine for future picks. Do we have a young prospect that we're willing to trade? Ayo is that good then? I wonder why the Bulls who are asset collecting, couldn't even get a first round pick or a prospect better than Rob Dillingham for a player that they were openly shopping around?
One of my old college dorm mates from south Jersey near Philly told me there was a guy named Dante Riccobano who was a dirty old man but he also took a lot of action
Yea I would gladly pay a first for either. Why would it matter if other teams dont value them that much? We are just going to punt a season because we cant find a trade for fair value? Thats so ****ing stupid yet here we are
Again, we're missing that the Bulls get a prospect back, maybe they like the guy? Teams value players differently, Maybe they did not want a first from the Rockets? Getting Ayo does not get us past OKC or Denver, so I don't see the point. We all seem desperate for a PG, ANY PG, like it changes the fate of this team. It doesn't. What pick are we giving up any ways? we have no first this season 2027 we have a BKN swap, we really want to give that up for Ayo? Nah, I wouldn't. Phx pick 27? Nah I wouldn't. Both could very well be lotto picks. I'm not trading potential lotto picks for a move that's still going to have us getting kicked out in the 2nd round.
so if no move is going to make us better than okc what is going to change between now and next season? Fvv and steven adams are going to come back from season ending injuries and start shooting 40% from 3? Hope our players improve while our star is 38 years old? Its not like okc is an older team than us that we can just wait out
Well, Harden was a move I think could have had us contending this season. Likely would have cost us Tari or Bari whoever the clips preferred, but FVVs dumb NTC prevents that from happening any ways. As for what happens past this season, I don't know. You kind of are forced to hope for internal development which isn't a wild idea when it comes to Sengun who just needs to refine his game, Reed who needs more experience and PT, and Amen who either needs the team to work around him or learn to become a less than average three point shooter. I don't think trading first round picks is the answer though. You never know which players might become available so sometimes it is best to just...roll with what you got, especially if what you got is still a top ten team in the league. You just never know, maybe the Knicks flame out and Brunson wants out and now you're sitting here hand empty because you blew your load on one of these other mediocre options? Not saying this is what happens but teams blow up every year. Maybe Phx or BKN gives us another first round top 5 pick? I honestly don't want to trade whatever future we have to help KD ring chase, he knew what he was signing up for here, playing with a young team...to be fair I've been staunchly against Giannis trades for this reason too. I'd have taken Harden because I think him, KD, Sengun could pull it off, and it would be cool as F to have him come back and win one...but since that isn't happening I'm cool with doing nothing this deadline I guess. Every deadline and offseason presents new opportunities, I just didn't see the big moves out there. I guess I'm not as optimistic as some others around here funnily enough. I've been settled on the idea that this is a 2nd round team at best. I don't think Ayo or Coby changes that, this team has too many issues for a depth guard to solve.
