No, I'm not??? I mentioned Tari for the Coby deal which I said when it was rumored seemed like a bad move. Tari is a better player than Coby. Tari is probably getting traded in a year or two I hope we can get more than Coby for him. I'm asking you what trade are you actually making for Ayo? You guys get mad at deals you imagine, it happens every year. Based on what the Bulls acquired, what do we have that's equivalent to that?? We are not sitting on 21 year old prospects to trade, if the Bulls wanted a prospect, who do we have that they'd want? What if the Bulls specifically wanted Rob? You have no idea what they actually wanted out of this deal. Teams trade for 'garbage' all the time and then look good doing so, I mean, it wasn't even that long ago when Giddey was garbage and a bust and turns out he actually wasn't.
Bulls roster construction is pretty wild Simons/Sexton/Ivey/Jones/Dillingham and then Giddey as the point forward seems pretty redundant in size/usage. maybe they keep all of them but it would make sense if they bought out one of Simons or Sexton.
I'm fine with Cam. He plays poorly we can cut him. What's the downside? Ime made Jalen a mediocre defender... They do need ball handler and 3rd string big more. I'm fine doing all 3...
Giddey was not a bust, his flaws just got augmented with OKC not rebounding the ball and his lack of shooting and Defense did not help. He got the Amen treatment daring him to shoot. You could very well play him out of the Playoffs like Gobert who is a liability on Offense instead of Defense. Also him dating a near minor also did not help.
I don't care about these labels, is he a better floor general than our backup PG's? Can he hit an open 3 and follow instructions? Can he run our second unit better than he ran the Wolves first unit? That's all I care about. He's good enough for the gig we have and we need his experience. Amen and Reed are going to take 90% of the minutes at PG anyway.
Giddey before he went to the Bulls was seen as a bust. Yes, now he's not, that's hindsight. But he definitely was a bust, if you're trading a top 10 pick for a veteran PG at 21 years old most people would say, at the time, would say 'That player bust for that team'. You really just explained why he was a bust and why OKC traded him.
He demanded a trade, admittedly, it was a polite conversation with Presti that he did not want to come off the bench. OKC was only going to bench him bc they needed a dawg defender as starter. OKC is pretty player friendly, who actually help players develop and they grant wishes. I pretty much know that because I watched that Dallas Series and before that Postseason they bet on Gordon Hayward, and Hayward totally flopped and retired.
"There just wasnt a deal available that we felt good about... now here's Ime to tell u how happy he is with our present roster..."
