As an upstater, I do not care what he does as long as I do not have to foot the bill to support the city.
I'm a Texans fan already paying for the Bills new stadium
I firmly believe NY should be 2 or 3 states. Downstate ideology is 180 degrees of upstate.
Not all but most. We are in the blue but take a look at the rest of the state.

Eh, that's most places. I would be vehemently opposed to a new state with an incredibly small population getting two senators while NYC and Buffalo also only get two. The same goes for rural California. Just because you disagree with the majority of the population doesn't mean you deserve disproportionate representation in the Senate.

Why do so many allegedly Christians" froth at the mouth over rich people paying taxes to help poor working working families afford childcare?. Fortunately more and more of even the little MAGA are realizing they have been scammed.

New York City is a major "donor" region that contributes significantly more in tax revenue to the state than it receives back in spending.

Recent data highlights this fiscal imbalance:
    • Revenue Contribution: NYC taxpayers account for 54.5% ($68.8 billion) of the state’s total revenue.
    • Spending Allocation: The city receives only 40.5% ($47.6 billion) of state operating expenditures.
    • Economic Impact: NYC generates roughly 60% of the state’s GDP, effectively subsidizing infrastructure, schools, and services in Upstate New York and the suburbs.
While the city relies on state aid for specific systems like the MTA and Medicaid, it remains the primary engine funding the rest of the state's budget.

Since everything on Earth is pointing towards humans all hell-bent on a return to city states and widespread serfdom, let's go ahead and let people start splitting up the states. It's a good intermediate step, LOL.

100%, but where are these questions regarding all the “wins” claimed across this country by the right in 2025 despite homicides dipping in 2024 under Biden.

Look at these well regarded men claim victory for Trumps policy and attacks on Venezuelan drug boats over statistics that end in 2024.

Of course it’s full of **** to credit that guy with a a low NYC homicide rate to start this year, homicide trends will likely take years to affect with policy (that isn’t a Salvadoran style instantaneous lock up of 3% of the adult male population).

But both sides are doing this tactic. It would be amazing for it to be called out with equal vigor.

You can't expect centrists to "both sides" anything because they're all closet right-wingers

You shouldn’t repost tweets that are meaningless though. If something is a dishonest tactic, don’t use it.

That is funny, but really the greater situation isn’t funny to me. Political discourse can’t be dishonest tweets and memes in a functional society.

The indulgence in bullshit is what we were born into and are incentivized to live in, but it’s rotten junk food that can’t be lived on for long.
