He has the assets to make a solid trade. Other teams are signing guys that fit our needs for pennies. Ayo was a perfect example. I’ve been a Stone proponent up until the foolish extension of Ime and FVV. There is no excuse for this deadline.
Hard capped is the excuse everytime , other teams that are in the same position seem to able to make marginal moves. Nobody is expecting a block buster but dam improve the team. He built an unbalanced roster & never addressed the Floor general situation after Fred went down. He has the fans confused on what direction the team is actually going. It's still a mystery if we are actually trying to compete this year or a development year for the younger players? Nothing is clear Adams goes down best rebounder on the team & no move is made
The FVV extension is a good one as it is in favour of the team. The Rockets declined VanVleet's $44.9 million and replaced it with a player extension of 25,000,000 a season over 2 years. Fred has a player option for next season. You could trade him if he agrees
He's held back because he can't play defense at an acceptable level even if we had an offense 1st coach. Unless he comes in hot drilling jumpers, he shouldn't get more playing time.
The Rockets are down two rotational players for the rest of the season and the Thunder/Spurs are nearly unstoppable...Stone has already punted the season and he will continue to play it safe. If FVV does end up recovering this season...no way they let him play.
In the pick n roll, he's getting some open 3s. I think another shooting guard who can create offense for themselves can help Reed when paired together...I'm really wanting Derozan if the Kings buy him out. He's great in the post and we can move Amen to the dunker spot along with Sengun. In addition, it wouldn't hurt to get CP3 as well. If Reed is struggling, I would rather gives those minutes to CP3 over Aaron Holiday
I'm not worried about his defence. Hitting shots is our problem. he competes, has quick hands on defence even though I get that his athleticism doesn't allow him to keep up with more athletic guards.
Great news for the Rockets. After we **** the bed in the playoffs, Giannis will Stone/Ime's escape hatch.
They wanted Giannis to stay East. I think their best case scenario was a trade to the Heat. This leaves the Spurs/Thunder/Wolves as potential suitors in the summer and will force the Rockets to actually consider trading for an MVP candidate. I think the Rockets needed to trade for him now if they want him. They can't top an offer with Dylan Harper or Jalen Williams. Hopefully if the Rockets don't shock the world and make the trade now, the Bucks find a way to land Morant and keep Giannis in Wisconsin.
