I've been on thar corner since the start of the Udoka era. This core has yet to reach conference finals. We love the projection of our players, but those guys fail to hit their peak consistently.

We still need more talent.

You have to really wonder how good his organization is at developing guys. Jalen and Cam are long gone. Amen has gotten more minutes and touches, so his counting stats have improved, but I can't say he's gotten any better. Bari still has zero fluidity. And Reed sat for a whole year, which did nothing for him that I can tell. Even Sengun seems to have taken a step back.

 

Who are our shooters? They're all day to day and he doesn't make the fast adjustments to find out. Streaky shooters with a slow adjustment coach isnt going to work

Man, they can't give Amen a max contract. The Rockets would be screwed for years. The book is out on him.

 

Yep, not enough of a handle and his shot is still too inconsistent he is trending more towards Shawn Marion than anything else.

I know the draft can be hit or miss. Every team gets busts. But you have to start wondering why our draftees all plateau after two seasons. These guys all have shown flashes of greatness in their second season. But none of them have significant improvement after season 2. It can't be coincidence, right? SEVEN of them over FOUR years.

This is all true but what is being done? Coach needs to light that fire.....I see a very lethargic and complicit team. No box outs, no hustle, giving up on plays and on defense/no close outs. There was a sequence in the 3rd quarter at the 4:04 mark where White goes for a free throw jump shot, misses. They get an offensive rebound, get an open look at a 3, miss, Harper comes through for a put back slam. They are not fighting for possessions or putting bodies on people. It's really bad and embarrassing. That's just basic basketball. Rockets are expecting for things to go their way and don't know how to affect the game to make things go their way when it doesn't.

 

I've been hearing a lot of Stone bashing lately but I really don't know who else could do better.
