I think they could've traded players like Tari, Adams, and a 2nd round pick or two to get a deal done for a guard without going over the apron.

I guess Stone's OK with waving the white flag on this season and wasting a year of a window with KD.

Right now it's obvious this team won't make it out of the 1st round.

Well. ****. He's not perfect, but he would have been an improvement. Table scraps aren't going to be enough to push this team over the top, so why did they get Kevin Durant if they weren't going to go for it NOW?

The team is literally over the tax threshold right now and is hard capped at the 1st apron. They used every exception they could to get to this point, they could not spend more money even if they wanted to.

 

I wouldn't say Durant is having an amazing season. He is having an amazing season for 95% of the league. It's just average everyday him-drum season for Durant.

 

Great we'll have all summer to reminisce on how great a season he had when we are out in the first and then he turns 38. Stone is a genius.
