Well, yes. That is their baseline plan for this year and next. They’ve telegraphed it. IMO, the only way it changes is if some can’t miss opportunity comes out of left field. In Stone’s mind, the bar to do anything in the near term is extremely high. Otherwise, “doing something” would be implying the current thing isn’t working as planned - and that starts the clock. He doesn’t want to start the clock.
This is likely what will happen. Tari is clearly the better player. The concern with him is always the health risk. I just don't know how much the Rockets value him. If he gets a large contract from some team, will they match? I am not very excited about White. If he's just a rental for half a season, I wouldn't give up any valuable trade assets for him. He is not going to move the needle enough to elevate us to contending status. I'd rather throw my dice on Reed getting back his shooting form.
Just get Coby already! Start Tari and move Jabari to the bench. Jabari has too inefficient a shot. Give me a starting lineup of Coby Amen Tari Durant Sengun pls. We need more handles and shooting on this team. If I’m being greedy give me Coby and Monk!!! And screw it throw Gafford in there too lol!
Honestly, has anyone watched Coby White play basketball? He’s not going to solve any of our problems. Frankly I’d rather have KPJ over White and I HATE KPJ.
